On Wednesdays, we talk weird

This week, we speak with Charlie Mewshaw. Charlie is the host of Lost Monster Files on Discovery, One half of the Arcane Carolina's podcast, and a dedicated researcher specializing in his stomping grounds--the Carolinas. This week we discuss a grab bag of everything. We talk about what it's like to host one of these tv shows for a full season, we hear some great stories and mysteries from the Carolinas, and more. Most importantly, we are hyping you up to get ready for Frogman Festival 2026!

It's a true crime episode!

This week, we talk about the solved, unsolved case of Erica Baker. A local Ohio girl takes her grandma's dog for a walk and is never seen again. While we known exactly who is responsbile for her death, how and why it was done, we still don't know where she is. This is a wild story of scandal, twists, and turns. All while a family continues to miss out of the jsutice they deserve.

This week, we look at the controversial Gable Film. A piece of footage that emerged in 2007 depicting what a lot of people assume is a Dogman, we discuss the history and the conclusion of who is behind the film. We also discuss the backlash and the doubt of those who insist that what you're seeing is a real creature and that the admission of a hoax is just a government psyop.

In Cherokee legend, before they took over the lands of Southern Appalachia, there was a race of pale skinned, nocturnal people on the lands when they arrived that they drove away. A lot of mystery surrounds these people and with it, a lot of speculation.

In the news this week:
A Cigarette Stealing Ghost
An elephant with an insatiable bloodthirst.
Grave robbing in the U.S.A.

This week, we talk about real life encounters with Gargoyles. Or...are they? Keeping in line with mothman lore, Gargoyles are another type of winged humanoid that people aren't paying enough attention to due to our belief that they are just architectural beauties. But maybe there is more than meets the eye.

This episode, we take a look at a lesser known contactee--Buck Nelson Allegedly, just a plain farmer from Missouri, Buck tells us the story of his trip to multiple planets in our solar system. He describes in detail the inhabitants of these planets and how we aren't so different from each other.

You mean to tell me I have been doing this podcast for 6 years and have not covered this yet? This week, we turn our attention to the Appalachian Mountains and barely even scratch the surface of the stories there. So stay out of the woods and tune in while you discuss the critters creatures, cryptids, and stories out of Appalachia.

Considered one of the "heavy hitters" of "the government does weird suff and hides it from us", Project Stargate was the US governments attempt at remote viewing. It's one of those things you often hear talked about in passing, but rarely have people deep dived. Welp, we deep dived it.
