Once Again

“With the help of a smooth talking tomcat, a family of Parisian felines set to inherit a fortune from their owner try to make it back home after a jealous butler kidnaps them and leaves them in the country.” - IMDB

In this week's episode of the Once Again Podcast, we will be looking at 1970’s classic, The Aristocats. Technically, this is the last Disney film approved by Walt himself and seems to be a transitional film; where Disney moved from making children’s animated films to family entertainment. This episode also serves as a transitional episode for Ashley and Jason, where Ashley will now be doing part of our opening credits.

Both hosts highly enjoyed this film, though it is not above criticism. Join us as we discuss The Aristocats!

“Bagheera the Panther and Baloo the Bear have a difficult time trying to convince a boy to leave the jungle for human civilization.” - IMDB

Firstly, we must apologize for the background noise in this week’s episode of the Once Again Podcast; we did our best to edit out the sounds but some could not be avoided. Secondly, welcome and thank you for joining us as we discuss the 1967 Disney Classic, The Jungle Book.

Sadly, producer Walt Disney passed away during the making of this film and never saw it completed. However, his wishes for it to have a happier and family-friendly tone were followed and this version differs from Rudyard Kipling’s original tales.

So grab some “Bare Necessities” and enjoy this episode. Afterward, let us know what you thought because “Oh, oobee doo” Ashley and Jason want to entertain you.

“Humorist Robert Benchley learns about the animation process at Walt Disney Studios while trying to find the great man himself to pitch him the idea of making a cartoon about a shy dragon.” - IMDB

In this week’s episode of the Once Again Podcast, hosts Ashley and Jason take a trip back in time in their series watching the Disney animated films to 1941 for The Reluctant Dragon. The film consists of two main parts: a live-action segment giving the audience a tour of the (then) new Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California; and an animated short adaption of Kenneth Grahame’s The Reluctant Dragon.

Some of the humor still holds up today, but some does not. Hear what our hosts have to say about this film in this week’s episode.
