So, Memorial Day was earlier this week. Do you know who your local heroes are? I thought I did but I found a few more during our Memorial Day Services with the Scouts. Here are some really cool local heroes including one who died in WWII, one that was a POW and a lone survivor from a submarine explosion and a few others.

So, Memorial Day is coming up this next week. Do you know who the tallest soldier was during the civil war? Did you know that there were a fair number of African Americans that fought on the Confederate side? Lets take a small dive into both of these and learn a little history in honor of Memorial Day.

Many states have ghost towns and they usually happen for one reason or another. A lot has to do with whatever the local economy depends on going away. Sometimes though it has to do with weather, or a new railroad or highway going through another town or bypassing the ghost town all together, whatever the case may be, here are a few famous ones from Texas.
