For Part 4 of Quibuary for One and Done TV, hosts Ian and John slap their knees and tickle their funny bones for two of Quibi’s comedies: Flipped - a home renovation series where Will Forte and Emmy-nominated Kaitlin Olsen are forced to flip homes for a drug cartel - and Kirby Jenner, a parody of the Kardashian reality series as told by Kirby, the oft-unseen fraternal twin of Kendall. Ian shares a Doug Loves Movies game designed just for John! John admires Theater Camp, a delightful Sundance mockumentary, and the summer camp film genre as a whole! Ian and John chuckle and chortle their way through discussions about the always-funny Beverly D’Angelo, John’s 7-year football career, Peacock’s The Traitors hosted by Alan Cumming, and just one of the Salamanca twins! Also, please reach out to the show if you’ve experienced watching #freerayshawn on a bus - we’d love to hear about your 7 minute ordeal and just know that we are here for you.

For Part 3 of Quibuary for One and Done TV, hosts Ian and John grab a slice of life with all the cameras rolling for two of Quibi’s reality shows: Bad Ideas with Adam Devine - a full-throttle adventure series with increasingly dangerous situations and celebrity guests - and Memory Hole, a journey into Canadian pop culture’s cringiest moments hosted by Will Arnett! Ian admires the simplicity of the messages behind indie films like Little Miss Sunshine. John attends Sundance Film Festival (virtually) for a movie-packed weekend filled with indie soon-to-be hits! Get ready to throw away those scripts and confront reality as Ian and John discuss Real World/Road Rules aka The Challenge, I Love the 70’s and its subsequent programs, podcast plagiarism, and 350 hours of yacht drama! Plus - John and a Paul Dano character have something in common and don’t forget to send us your revenge fantasies (no diagrams, please).
For Part 2 of Quibuary, hosts Ian and John land themselves in hot water with two of Quibi’s drama shows: #freerayshawn - an Emmy winning hostage situation cop series starring Laurence Fishburn - and The Fugitive, an updated take on the Harrison Ford classic starring Kiefer Sutherland! Ian chats about the Ryan Murphy-tastic Netflix thriller series The Watcher. John regails us with rave reviews on the 2022 Tollywood action epic RRR! Buckle your seatbelts for a less than 10-minute bus ride as Ian and John discuss that sticky Louisiana sweat, bad guy give-aways, and a classic Broadway story about their good pal Larry. And remember: don’t forget to make today awesome.

Happy Quibuary everybody! During our shortest month, Ian and John will examine the shortest-lived mobile streaming platform Quibi and its shows whose episodes only lasted 10 minutes or less! For Part 1 of this series, the hosts will enter the battle arena for two competition shows: Gayme Show - a comedy where two straight folks compete for the title of “Queen of the Straights” - and Floored, a dance competition that challenges competitors with unsteady footing and obstacles. Ian implores John to rewatch the apparently quite forgettable movie The D-Train starring Jack Black and James Marsden. John enjoys the mind-boggling meta hilarity that is Paul T. Goldman - a Quibi survivor! Ian and John face off in a cage match full of clap push ups, Kirstin Dunst’s snaggletooth, the ol’ hip-hop dancing, and tinsel confetti streamers! Plus - send in your very own One and Done show essences!

On this very angsty episode of One and Done TV, Ian and John navigate the trials and tribulations of teen life in the 1994 ABC drama My So-Called Life starring Claire Danes and Jared Leto! Walk the halls with 15-year-old Angela (Danes) as she handles all the ups and downs of high school, friendships, boyfriends and boys who are just friends, sex, drugs, and worst of all: parents! Ian is movie-manipulated by the brain-exploding horror romp M3GAN! John morbs himself through the weirdly bland Jared Leto anti-romp Morbius! Ian and John wistfully sigh as they reminisce on their shared high school experiences, the comedy of heightened emotions, the merits of sitting alone in a dark room, and a Peabody-winning discussion on soda versus pop. Plus - school is in session for the Class Time segment - where’s your hall pass?

On this very tubular episode of One and Done TV, Ian and John tease their hair and pad their shoulders for the 2002 Fox sitcom That 80’s Show starring Glenn Howerton and Chyler Leigh! From the minds of Bonnie and Terry Turner (creators of the eight-season fan favorite That 70’s Show), this wholly unrelated one-hit misfit comedy gives us a glimpse of 1984 for a struggling musician (Howerton) and his family and friends, along with some celebrity guest stars. Ian is blown away by the incredible and mediocre experience that is Avatar: The Way of Water - in IMAX! John admires the amazing acting chops of Brendan Fraser in The Whale. Lean into the Brendan Fraser renaissance, people. Solve a Rubik’s cube as you listen to Ian and John discuss the joys of will-they-won’t-they, relive a familiar Will Forte writing credit, and reminisce on the year of Greg the Bunny in the Year of the Rabbit! Plus, a special shout out to That 90’s Show which premieres today on Netflix - hello again, Wisconsin!

On this very awkward episode of One and Done TV, Ian and John’s lips hurt real bad for the 2012 Fox animated series Napoleon Dynamite, based on the 2004 smash hit indie film! Join Napoleon and his friends Pedro and Deb along with movie mainstays Kip, Grandma, and Uncle Rico for an animated look at blood sports, ligers, and life in Preston, Idaho. Ian looks forward to watching Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away all the way through. John enjoys a haunting look at Guillermo del Toro’s stop-motion Mussolini fantasy Pinocchio! Eat some tots with Ian and John as they discuss Vote For Pedro t-shirts, pimple cringe, and the total wompfest that is St. Louis. Also - remember watching movie trailers on the Apple website? Anyone?

On this very up-and-coming episode of One and Done TV, Ian and John try out their best material in the 2016 Netflix sketch comedy show The Characters starring Lauren Lapkus and Tim Robinson! Eight improvisational comedians are each given a half hour and a generous budget to individually showcase their character work in a variety of sketches with a broad range of settings and situations. Ian, now a renowned world traveler, shares his thoughts on David Farrier’s bizarre New Zealand documentary Mister Organ. John, now a renowned martyr, is doing some heavy lifting trying to keep the film Babylon afloat. For the first episode of 2023, the hosts discuss the SNL showcases in Chicago, powdered milk as movie magic cocaine, Conan post-Conan, and the surprising definition of elegiac. Plus - shout out to Miranda and Rebecca Gruss who are undeniable twins and super nice Difficult People person Cole Escola!

On this very last year episode of One and Done TV, Ian and John are live from John’s parents’ basement to look back at the first year of the podcast! All 32 shows that were discussed in 2022 have been ranked by both co-hosts. Tears were shed. Feelings were hurt. It’s an emotional bloodbath that we hope you enjoy. Ian and John also look back at other shows we lost in 2022, and gaze into the future of what 2023 shows might become future episodes.
