Here, we saw that out of the ten, only one came back to thank Jesus for what he has done. As we end our study on the book of Galatians – the apostle Paul personally wrote his final words to the Church in Galatia in large letters – revealing the urgency of his heart.

He doesn’t tell them to try harder. He doesn’t give them more rules. He doesn’t point to his achievements. What he is giving emphasis on is to boast in the cross; live as a new creation and carry the marks of Christ.

What marks are you willing to carry for Christ? If someone followed you for one whole week, by your words and actions, would anyone know you’re a follower of Christ?

The marks that matter –

Not the marks of religion.

Not the marks of worldly success.

Not the marks of decorating our old self.

But the mark of the cross, and the mark of grace.

Every day, there is a battle within all of us – the battle between the flesh and the Spirit. But we do not fight these battles alone – God is with us. And walking in the Spirit allows us to walk in victory.

Victory in the war within us is not about trying harder but walking closely with the Spirit and surrendering our all to God.

Jesus calls us to die to our old nature, our selfishness, and our sinfulness so that we can be transformed into something new – a new creation in Him.

“The Day I Died” – highlights the reality of what it means to die to self. It’s not a literal physical death, but a spiritual death to our old ways of thinking, our selfish desires, and our sinful nature.

As we reflect on the message of dying to self, let’s ask ourselves: Are we willing to let go of our old selves and embrace the new life that Christ offers? Are we ready to undergo the transformation He has in store for us, trusting that through His death, we can have new life?

Today, we are blessed to be hearing about missions through our guest speaker, Dr. Hyeok Seon Kwon.

Our Scripture today, Matthew 25:14-30, also known as the Parable of the Talents, tells the story of a master who gives his servants different amounts of money or “talents”, trusting them to put it to good use while he’s away. This story speaks to us about missions by reminding us that we each have unique gifts and abilities from God, and it's our responsibility to use them to spread the Gospel and serve others. It challenges us to do our best with what we have – with the talents God has given us.

We are all given varying amounts of talents, but note that it doesn’t matter how many talents we have. All of us should make use of what we have been given to further the mission of Christ. 

What are your talents? Will you use them for God today?

As we listen to today’s service entitled, Jesus Plus None, may we come to realize and accept that true freedom only comes from knowing Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.

Paul reminds the Galatians that there is no other way to salvation, only through Jesus alone – no needed addition. There is nothing else we need – only Jesus.

We are also reminded to be careful about what we listen to because there is only one Gospel. The Gospel begins, is centered and ends with Jesus.

May we be able to answer this questions to ask as we approach the beginning of March:

Do I have a relationship with God?

How is my relationship with God?

Am I truly free?

Have a grace-filled week ahead!

This Sunday, we dig deeper into the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Here we see a conversation between Jesus and an expert of the law regarding how to inherit eternal life. Jesus’ answer included this parable teaching that we can’t inherit eternal life by doing good works but only by God’s grace through Christ Jesus alone. Because God had ben gracious and merciful to us, we are also to show grace and mercy towards others.

As we listen to today’s sermon, the question to answer is not “Who is my neighbor?’ but rather “Will I be a neighbor to someone today?”

John 13:34 says, “A new command I give you; Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
