Welcome.
This is the first Midweek Reset of 2026, and I want to start it the way we mean to continue: steady, clear, and unshakable.
I’m JoAnn, and this is Midweek Reset, a space for breath, reflection, and real courage in real life.
And today, I’m not here to give you a cute message.
I’m here to remind you who you are.
We have lived through enough to know this: you can be tired and still be strong. You can be healing and still be powerful. You can be carrying a lot and still be called forward.
Last year tested us in ways we never expected. Some of us were stretched thin. Some of us had to rebuild in places nobody could see. Some of us learned how to keep going while our hearts were breaking.
But we are here.
And because we are here, we are not starting 2026 as the same person.
We are starting as someone who has survived, learned, and grown.
So take a breath with me.
Inhale, slowly.
Exhale, fully.
One more time.
This is going to be an awesome year, not because nothing will challenge us, but because we are walking into it wiser. Stronger. More resilient. More rooted.
Now, here’s what I want you to do for the next 45 seconds.Do not scroll. Do not rush. Do not brace yourself for another hard year.Let your shoulders drop. Let your breath deepen. Let your spirit come back into the room.
Because we are not entering 2026 crawling. We are not entering it apologizing. We are not entering it numb.
We are entering it awake.
With lessons in our hands. With wisdom in our bones. With prayers we whispered in the dark that still carried us into the light.
What tried to break you did not win. What tried to drain you did not finish you. What you survived did not steal your future.
It sharpened you.It strengthened you.It revealed what is steady inside you.
So yes, call this a reset, but do not mistake it for weakness. This is the sound of resilience choosing itself again. This is the moment you stop dragging the weight of last year into this week.
This is where you return to what matters most. This is where you begin again, right here.
And now, if you read the Midweek Reflection that goes with this episode, you already know the heart of today’s message.
This is a reset for the rest of the week.
Not a restart because you failed, but a return because you are human.
A return to what matters.
A return to peace.
A return to the part of you that already knows how to rise again.
And there’s one scripture that anchors that kind of return.
So I want to slow down with it, and I want to read it like a steady hand on your shoulder, not like a lesson.
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 KJV.
Take a breath and let that settle.
Because this is not just a verse. It is a strategy.
Keep your heart.
Guard it.
Tend to it.
Protect what is sacred inside you.
Because out of your heart flows everything: your words, your decisions, your patience, your peace, your courage.
And midweek is often the moment we notice what has been draining us.
Not because we did anything wrong.
But because life is real.
By Wednesday, the week has already had a chance to speak.
And suddenly you realize, I’m carrying more than I want to carry.
So today, we are doing something powerful, even if it looks simple.
We are choosing to return.
We are keeping our heart with diligence.
Not with weakness.
With care.
With intention.
With wisdom.
So let’s get grounded.
If you can, relax your shoulders.
Unclench your jaw.
Let your hands rest.
And take one slow inhale.
Now exhale as if you are letting the weight slide off your chest.
Good.
Now check in with your heart gently. No judging. No fixing. Just noticing.
What is your heart holding today?
Is it pressure?
Is it exhaustion?
Just name what is true.
Because courage is not pretending.
Courage is honesty that leads to healing.
Now here’s the question.
What have I been carrying that I do not have to carry alone?
Let one answer rise.
One word is enough.
And as you exhale, imagine setting that weight down for a moment.
Not forever.
Not perfectly.
Just for now.
Now we move into the reset. The same reset from the blog post, but we’re going to let it go deeper here, because audio can hold you in a different way.
This is not about doing everything.
This is about one breath, one release, one return, one next step.
And the reason this matters is because the rest of your week will be shaped by what you choose right now.
So let’s begin.
Start with one breath.
Inhale slowly.
Exhale slowly.
Again.
And say quietly: I am here.
If prayer is part of your life, you can add: God, meet me here.
Now one release.
Ask yourself: what am I carrying today that I do not need to carry right now?
Not what you should not carry. Not what you will never carry again.
Just what you do not wan
t to carry right now, in this moment.
If you can, write it down. One honest sentence.
Then speak this gently.
I release what I cannot control.
I release what is not mine to fix today.
I release the need to carry everything.
Breathe.
Now one return.
Ask yourself: what matters most for the rest of this week?
Not everything.
Just one thing that brings you back to center.
One thing that helps you feel steady again.
Maybe it’s peace.
Maybe it’s rest.
Now say it.
For the rest of this week, I am returning to __________.
Beautiful.
Now one next step.
Ask yourself: what is one small step I can take in the next 24 hours that matches the return I just named?
Keep it realistic. Keep it kind. Keep it clear.
One message.
One phone call.
One page.
One walk.
One earlier bedtime.
One decision.
One no that protects your peace.
One yes that moves you forward.
Now speak it.
By this time tomorrow, I will __________.
And take a breath.
Because right there, you just did something powerful.
You moved from survival mode to intention.
You moved from overwhelm to one next step.
You moved from noise to direction.
And this is how resilience looks in real life.
Not dramatic.
Not perfect.
Steady.
Now I want to offer a prayer and a blessing over you, in a way that is open and welcoming.
Receive it however you receive it.
God of mercy and steady love, thank You for meeting us in the middle of this week.
Thank You that we do not have to wait for a perfect moment to begin again.
Help us keep our hearts with diligence.
Help us release what drains us.
Help us return to what matters most.
Give us courage for the next right step.
Strengthen the weary.
Settle the anxious.
Comfort the grieving.
Guide the uncertain.
And let peace guard our hearts and minds today.
And so it is.
Now take one more slow breath.
And now, before you go, I want you to remember this.
You are not behind. You are not broken. You are not too late.
You are becoming.
And everything you lived through last year, every moment you wanted to quit, every night you cried and still got up, it did not cancel you.
It built you.
So this week, do not carry what is not yours.Do not replay what you cannot change.Do not bow to pressure like it is your master.
Breathe.Release.Return.
And when the path feels long, you do not panic. You take the next step anyway.
Because this is your year to rise with wisdom.Your year to move with courage.Your year to live from peace, not from survival.
So go gently, but go forward.
One breath.One step.One day at a time.
