Welcome back to “One Brew Over the Cuckoos Nest.” Kevin and Doug took a small hiatus to celebrate the joys of summer with their families but are back with a review of “Late Night” written by and starring Mindy Kaling and also starring Emma Thompson. Kevin and Doug also present you with a host favorite segment of One Brew Two.

In this weeks episode Kevin and Doug discuss 2 comedies from 2019. The first film they discuss is “Long Shot” starring Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron. In the second act they cover Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut “Booksmart” starring Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein. Comedy is one of the toughest genres to appeal to all generations, and humor in itself is subjective to different types of taste. Kevin and Doug discuss John Wick 3. The third installment in the unbelievably bankable trilogy. This week includes a brand new segment of dissimilar films to watch and a very special visit at the end of the episode.

On this week we review the second film in our series "The Year of Scorsese." Paul Newman and Tom Cruise star in "The Color of Money" directed by Martin Scorsese. Kevin and Doug reflect on the style of Scorsese. Will they respect it and love it as much as they did "Taxi Driver"? Listen and find out.

After more than a decade and over twenty films later the Marvel Cinematic Universe has wrapped up an iconic filmography ending what they call phase 3. What is to come in the future is yet to be decided, but Kevin and Doug give their opinions on what has been done in the past. Dougie and Kevin discuss the new film from 2019 “Shazam!” starring Zachary Levi. One host left refreshed, and one host felt the film was “fun” but a bit stale. The hosts bring back a favorite segment playing “One Brew Two” and give the listeners some extra credit films to watch.

In October 1941 a few months before “A date that will live in infamy” (Pearl Harbor), Disney releases a animated feature about a cute little elephant with jumbo ears that can fly. 77 years later Tim Burton gives the property a make over. On this weeks episode Kevin and Dougie discuss whether that was a good idea or a bad idea.

“Bonnie and Clyde” came out in the year 1967. 52 years later Netflix produced the other side of the story “The Highwaymen.” Both films have cast wonderful actors at the films core, but they have very different goals for what they are trying to sell the audience. On this weeks episode Kevin and Doug dive into both films and find themselves on different sides of the law.

On this weeks episode we talk about “Taxi Driver” starring Robert De Niro. It is the first installment of our 10 film marathon from director Martin Scorsese. We also review the newest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Captain Marvel.” Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson star as a comedic duo that save the planet and a cat along the way.

The awards show that everyone has been waiting for with bated breath. Kevin and Dougie give you their own top ten films of 2018 and then off to the awards picked by you the listeners. The clips from the films are available on Youtube and the Frothys theme music was written and performed by Kevin.
