Ever get impatient with God? Abraham did. So he did what many of us do...he took matters into his own hands. And that’s when the mess started. In this message we’ll look at why it’s so important to God that we not only do His work, but that we do it THE WAY that He wants it done. His timing, His refining of our hearts, His development of our character are ALL as important to Him as the accomplishment of His purposes.

We’re surrounded by people who make promises that never come to be. But what about when God promises? What about when God promises something EXTRAORDINARY? In this message we’ll look at when God promised Abram to make his descendants like the “stars of the sky”...even though he was childless! A God who is big enough to fulfill THAT can be trusted to fulfill His promises to us!

Sometimes on the FaithWalk we act as though men control our destiny and not God. So we cut corners or look for an “edge”, even if it means compromising who we are. Abram models well the value of taking the high road. He let Lot choose first when it came to picking land, knowing that God would be the one to determine the blessing. His selflessness protected him, and God’s blessing remained upon him as a result. We’ll challenge our people in this message to trust God when they’re tempted to take fate into their own hands and act in ways that are less than His best.
