So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” Exodus 3:10 (NIV)

“The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.’ Exodus 3:18

But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand compels him. Exodus 3:19

So I will stretch out my hand and strike the Egyptians with all the wonders that I will perform among them. After that, he will let you go. Exodus 3:20

FULFILLING YOUR POTENTIAL

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” Exodus 3:11

And God said, “I will be with you. . . .” Exodus 3:12

Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” Exodus 3:13

God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:14

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord. . . . Colossians 3:23

PROMISED LAND

It’s not where you’ve been, it’s where you’re going

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. Exodus 3:1

And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Exodus 3:2

Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.” Exodus 3:3

So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”

And he said, “Here I am. . . .” Exodus 3:4

And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites. IT’S GO TIME

Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.” Exodus 3:3

Stop settling for the status quo.

Pursue God’s purpose not your promotion.

“Here I am. . . .” Exodus 3:4

And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. . . .

So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.

So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:1-7

FEELING THE PRESSURE

WHEN YOU DON’T SEE THE PURPOSE

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

When you cannot see God’s purpose,

you’ve got to trust in God’s promise.

[W]hile they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. Luke 2:6

When you cannot see God’s purpose,

you’ve got to trust God’s timing. Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Psalm 27:14

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him. . . . Psalm 37:3

They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

FEELING THE PRESSURE

THE POWER WITHIN YOU

IS GREATER THAN THE PRESSURE UPON YOU

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. . . . 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INTEGRITY OF YOUR CHOICES,

NOT THE SUCCESS OF THEIR OUTCOMES.

But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 1:20

OF ALL THE VOICES COMPETING FOR YOUR ATTENTION,

THERE’S ONLY ONE THAT COUNTS.

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Matthew 1:22-23

SOMETIMES YOUR DILEMMA

IS GOD’S DESTINY IN DISGUISE

Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,

and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus. Matthew 1:18-24

GOD’S POWER IN MY WEAKNESS

… I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud (2 Corinthians 12:7b, NLT).

Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away (2 Corinthians 12:8, NLT).

the accuser of our brethren … which accused them before our God day and night (Revelation 12:10).

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things (1 John 3:20).

Whenever our hearts in [tormenting] self-accusation make us feel guilty and condemn us (1 John 3:20, AMP)

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9a, KJV).

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9a, NLT).

❑ The power of God is most visibly demonstrated through my weaknesses.

For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth (1 Corinthians 1:26, AMP).

[No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame (1 Corinthians 1:27, AMP).

And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are (1 Corinthians 1:28, AMP).

So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God (1 Corinthians 1:29, AMP).

❑ My weaknesses are not an obstacle, they are an opportunity!

So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me (2 Corinthians 12:9b, NLT).

That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:10, NLT).

Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross (Philippians 4:6-8, NLT).

❑ God’s purpose is greater than my pain.

For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you (2 Corinthians 13:4).

And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling (1 Corinthians 2:3). I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God (John 3:21).

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— (2 Corinthians 4:7-9, NKJV).

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16, NKJV).
