Christian maturity admits that you have not yet fully matured. In this sermon we looked at spiritual growth and saw that the greatest indicator of spiritual growth is humility.  Are you growing spiritually?

Knowing Jesus isn't knowing about Him, but knowing Him experientially through a personal relationship with Him. Paul's goal is that he might know Jesus more fully. This comes through experiencing the power of His resurrection in the midst of our pain.

Does leadership matter? What can we learn about the importance of godly leadership for the church and for our lives?

What does it mean to “work out our own salvation?” How is it that God is at work within us? What does it mean to be transformed by Christ?

“What the heart loves, the will chooses, and the mind justifies.” All true change begins in the heart and moves outward. But the only hope for true, lasting change is Jesus Christ.

Paul’s life was about magnifying Christ whether by his life or death. For him, to live is christ and to die is gain. What does this mean for us as believers?  How do we live in light of what Jesus has done? How do we live a life worthy of the gospel as citizens of heaven?

What lens do we need to be looking through? How can we experience transforming grace in our lives? Is the gospel advancing? To Paul, if the gospel was advancing, then no matter his circumstance, Paul was rejoicing. How can we live like Paul did?

Prayer is where the power of God starts. Paul opens his letter in prayer and thanks to God for the Philippians and God’s work in them. Paul prays for their continued growth in Christ.

The Israelites are finally delivered from Egypt. God defeats the enemies of His people, delivers them from slavery and establishes their new identity as the nation of Israel. All of this points towards the death and resurrection of Jesus who defeated Satan, sin and death by rising from the dead.

Sin demands a spotless lamb or a firstborn son. This points us to the Cross of Christ where either Jesus dies for us for our sin or we will die eternally at the end of time. There is good news for you!
