Just as solitaire is a game we play alone, so is loneliness. When solitaire becomes a metaphor for the game of your life, all of the fun is squeezed out, and it becomes the game of social pain. I want to share a story about a good friend of mine, Darrell Beckley, who possesses a very genuine personality. He had an unlikely encounter with a Vietnam vet playing a sad solitaire. Darrell turned that sad solitaire into a unique and inspiring outcome for both the Vet and himself. And we will take a look at the latest research on loneliness, the most significant disease, and what it is telling us about our society and ourselves. We will reveal some simple suggestions on how to reduce suffering and create more joy!
