💬 Does entertainment come at price?

It would be easy to say that entertainment comes at the expense of time in the present for something that could be done which is more productive. But in the wider sense, when does entertainment become a vice or barrier to how we actually see the world. 🤔

This is the question that I have been asking myself after finishing this book. 📚

The book gives an honest assesment on the impact that the television had on American society 35 years ago. But, the repercussions of its effects are still being felt today. It’s intereting when reading this book to see what impact it’s actually had on how we see truth. 📖

I would say that this book is challenging. Not only in its language but in its ideas. It’s a complex read that requires your full attention, but if you’re willing to take the leap then it’s full of ensightful arguments. 👍📚

Who has read any marketing books?

I finished reading the ‘22 Immutable Laws of Marketing’ today. It was not a long book at all (132 pages) but gave a good indication about what makes a good marketing strategy. 📈

As someone who doesn’t know much about marketing theory is proved to be an insightful book. The 22 laws seemed reasonable given the book was written 27 years ago, the principles seem to be relevant today on face value. 📚

This book would be good for someone who doesn’t know much about marketing (like me) as an introductory read. But would also be good for anyone who knows the current market and wants to use it as a comparison. 👍📚

💬 Who wants to improve their writing?

If yes, ‘The Art of Writing’ by Peter Yang is a great book for you. It simply explains how we can become better writers. The book is split into 4 main principles:

1️⃣ Economy

2️⃣ Transparency

3️⃣ Variety

4️⃣ Harmony

They all work together to make you a better writer. For anyone who wants to improve their writing I recommend this book! 👍📚

The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy

Overall I enjoyed reading this book. I had many people recommending it to me and I also wanted to know more about the subject. The book starts off with explaining the differences between the conscious and the subconscious mind. From there the author explains across multiple chapters how we can explore the full potential of our subconscious mind. It was a bit repetitive but still holds some value. 👍📚
