John started out on Fleet Street at the age of 14, before becoming football and boxing correspondent at the Daily Mirror, and eventually the chief sports writer at the Daily Express for 13 years. He now writes for the Evening Standard and appears on Sky Sports' Sunday Supplement and talkSPORT.
