Nadel and his 105.3 The Fan broadcast partner Matt Hicks began reciting a limerick in the 8th inning of every game beginning in May of last season and it was a hit with fans, who contributed whimsical rhymes of their own. Nadel tells his story of how the book, which features superb illustrations by Arthur James, came together this offseason.

Corpus Christi Calallen's Phil Danaher is the winningest coach in Texas high school football history. Only a state championship has eluded him in 44 years at Dilley, Hamshire Fannett and Calallen, where he is closing in on a 34th straight trip to the playoffs. Danaher has been inducted in four different Halls of Fame and talks about growing up and playing high school football in Harlingen, earning a football scholarship at Angelo State and his incredible high school coaching record of 450-109-4.

Marjorie Lewis has published her first novel titled "When the Men Were Gone". Officially released October 2, it's a superb work of fiction based on the true story of Tylene Wilson, an assistant principal who stepped up to coach the Brownwood High School football team because most of the men who were 18 to 45 years old were serving in World War II. Lewis talks about how she discovered and fell in love with the story and why she decided to write about it.
