Retired educator (coach, teacher, principal, superintendent) Jackie McBroom is not an author by trade, but has written "Historic Texas Gyms, a Tribute to Vanishing Traditions", which includes stories about unique and beautiful small town gyms that were built during the Depression and served as the hubs of their communities. Pastor Harry Lee Sewell will receive the Dallas FBI Region's Community Relations Award on May 2-3 in Washington D-C. Sewell credits his church Family Cathedral in Mesquite and its local and worldwide missions and ministries.
