Jessica Magee is one of my favorite humans and educators and I couldn't be more excited to have her on to share incredible perspective on the stigma around math and burnout. Before becoming a consultant and instructional coach she spent years as a math teacher. She has helped design and implement math curriculum, and countless professional development around topics including one of my favorites regarding the use of visuals in math to enhance understanding. Today we tackle conversations around that big buzzword "common core", the reality of burnout in education, and how building community is what helps ensure positive engagement.

Burnout is NOT a problem unique to education. As I work with and connect across many organizations and businesses there is an unbelievable challenge with engagement. I hope this conversation helps bring awareness to common mental barriers in order to help reignite curiosity and understand that just because it's the way we've always done it doesn't mean it is THE way, nor does it have to be the way it always will be.

Rob Midiri is a certified project manager in healthcare and is currently serving as the director of operations for an expanding pharmacy practice. Rob has years of experience in running projects of varying size and complexity in healthcare, leveraging data analytics to implement mitigation strategies for diversion and loss as well as leading successful teams to increase margins, operational efficiencies and implement best practices.

One thing that is powerful to note, is that Rob has reached this level without a college degree. Like many other successful leaders, he has leveraged his skillset of networking with the intent to form authentic relationships while maintaining a high work ethic and desire to learn. This curiosity has consistently proven effective throughout his professional success by opening multiple doors of opportunity.
