Mazal Tazazo, an Ethiopian Israeli woman who volunteers with at-risk youth, was forced to run once the terrorists infiltrated the Nova festival on October 7, 2023. One of the terrorists hit her in the head with his rifle, then dragged her across an open field. As she regained consciousness, she felt them tying her up with rope, straightening her legs and coming closer to her. As they reached toward her face, she played dead by holding her breath. They left her for dead in the field. By playing dead, she managed to survive.

Remo Alhuziyel, a Bedouin police officer, was one of the first responders to arrive at the scene of the Nova festival. Remo was supposed to start his shift in security for the festival in Re'im at 6:30 a.m., but he was early for his shift and immediately got caught up in the fighting with Hamas terrorists.
