Welcome to Season 2 of the OneSMFC  Podcast! We are excited to introduce to our families, community members, and stakeholders to a new approach from district for our student's education: Warm Demands. Superintendent Ochoa is joined by two of our Math Teachers on Special Assignment (T.O.S.A.) Robin Lovell and Amy Burke, and our Director of Curriculum and Instruction Pam Bartfield. The four discuss what Spatial-Temporal (ST) Math and Footsteps2Brilliance are and what it will bring to our students academic success.

In episode 11 of the OneSMFC Podcast, Superintendent Diego Ochoa is joined by Assistant Superintendent of Ed Services David Chambliss, Science Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) Angel Yan, and Science TOSA Ian Kastelic. The four discuss NGSS: Next Generation Science Standards which is a new way of looking at Science instruction. 

NGSS have been adopted by 47 states in whole or in part and are based on learning Science by doing Science. In an NGSS lesson students are presented with a problem or a question about a real life situation. Students then learn about the situation with the goal of solving it. The ultimate goal is to have students increase their Science and engineering literacy on order to become adults that are able to apply these critical thinking skills to all aspects of their lives.

In Episode 10 of the OneSMFC Podcast, Superintendent Diego Ochoa is joined by three amazing colleague that have made endless strides keeping the SMFCSD community, staff, and students healthy and safe.
