  • A Parent's Prayer

In this heartfelt episode of Only for a Season, host Mel Cruzado shares a deeply personal story about the power of a parent’s prayer. Reflecting on the wisdom of his late mother—a true prayer warrior—Mel recounts a season of parenting challenges and the life-changing advice she gave him: to take everything to God in fervent prayer. Through personal testimony, biblical encouragement, and a powerful prayer for children, this episode reminds parents that no matter the season, God is faithful. Whether you're facing difficulties with your children or simply want to cover them in prayer, this message will encourage you to trust in God’s plan and never stop interceding.

    Parent’s Prayer

Father, in Jesus name, we come before You now in behalf of our children, [           ]. Your Word says that children are the heritage of the Lord and that the fruit of the womb is His reward. We accept [         ] as special gifts from You, Father, and thank You for giving them to us.

According to Your Word, as we train up our children in the way they should go, when they are old, they will not depart from it. We accept that promise now by faith.

As we teach [           ] and bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, we believe they will grow up to be godly people.

Because our children are taught of the Lord, great shall be their peace. We thank You, Father, for Your guidance in disciplining [         ]. As we correct them in love and admonish them according to Your Word, we pray that they will grow in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with You and with man.

We pray that You give Your angels charge over them each day to accompany them and keep them safe from any maneuver of the Devil. Your Word says that the seed of the righteous shall be delivered!

Because we have chosen to serve You, Lord, we can confidently proclaim: "Our Seed shall be Great and Mighty upon the earth".

    Amen

  • Words that Discouraged Me

Let me take you back to when I was 15. Someone looked me in the eye and said, 'You’ll never afford one.' Ouch, right? Those words stung deeply and lingered for years. But as life unfolded, God had something entirely different in store. What started with uncertainty grew into a 38-year career, grounded in faith and family.

Through it all, I’ve seen firsthand how God’s promises bring hope, even when discouragement tries to pull us down. Psalm 34:17-18 says, 'The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.' If you’ve ever felt the weight of hurtful words, join me today as we explore how God’s nearness can bring healing and purpose."
