Main Truth: God's mindset is the truest reality. We aim to be caught up in that reality in thought, and word & deed. I. God's Mindset & Action (8:1-4) God sees you in Christ Jesus; free, righteous, not condemned. And so you are! II. Our Mindset (8:5-9) The Spirit-Led mind purposes to see & think like God. III. Our Action (8:10-13) The Spirit-Led body ruthlessly denies the flesh.

I. The Law: Good or Bad? (7:7-13) The Law can't save us; it shows us we need saving. This is good. II. Me: Good and Bad (7:14-25) We are wretched. God is not. His Son rescued us. His Spirit will transform us. - Romans 1-7 Principle: God has freed us from sin's penalty, and is fighting sin's power in us, until the day sin is no longer present.

I. Dying to Sin & the Powerful Symbol of Baptism (6:1-4) Once we are united with Christ we died to sin! II. Old Self in Adam – New Life in Christ (6:5-14) We need to realize our new identity in Christ. III. Slaves to Righteousness (6:15-23) Sanctification is not passive – it requires us to take action.

I. Believing - Abraham is Credited as Righteous by Faith Alone (4:1-8) We haven't earned the blessing, we have just received it. II. Belonging - Abraham, the Father of All Who Believe (4:9-17) Believing leads to belonging. The Church is the community of those who have been saved and are justified. III. I. How Bad our Sin Condition Really Is (3:1-19) God's laws show us our sin and remind us why we need a Savior. II. How Good the Gospel Really Is (3:21-31) God planned our salvation, carried it out, and freely forgives and brings us into his family through faith in Jesus.

I. The Nature of Sin and Its Consequences (1:18-32) Creation makes God known as the Creator. Every human has chosen sin over God, and it affects not just us but our world. II.
