Sharing faith can feel intimidating. Evangelism is not a sales technique or simple friendliness; it means teaching the good news clearly and urging people to repent and believe in Jesus. Every disciple shares this responsibility, while conversion remains God's work from beginning to end. The church supports this work by making worship understandable and welcoming outsiders into a community shaped by grace. Jesus came to people, taught them and died in their place, giving both the message and model for sharing it.

A mighty river pours from a vast new temple, bringing life wherever it goes. This vision looks beyond a rebuilt temple to Jesus, God’s dwelling among people and the source of living water. Through the cross, He struck the kingdom of darkness and will finally destroy Satan, sin and death. As the willing priest, He offered His own body once for sins and brought His people back to God. Eternal hope rests in His victory and sacrifice.

Education and moral pressure cannot cure hearts ruled by sin. In Ezekiel’s vision, Israel is as helpless as very dry bones, unable to restore itself after God’s judgement. God’s word gathers the bones, but His Spirit gives them life. He joins His divided people, cleanses them, and places them under Jesus, the promised shepherd who lays down His life for His sheep. Hope rests wholly in God’s grace as His people share the gospel and pray for the Spirit to awaken others.

Weddings, birthdays and promotions easily attract celebration. Paul celebrates the gospel changing people. The Christians in Colossae trust Christ and love God’s people because their promised future with Him frees them to sacrifice, forgive and serve. Through the Bible, the Spirit gives wisdom to know God’s will and live in ways that please Him. Because God has rescued His people from darkness, forgiven their sins and secured their inheritance, they can patiently repent, pray for change and celebrate growth.

After six years of warnings, a fugitive reports that Jerusalem has fallen, yet Ezekiel’s listeners still treat God’s word like entertainment. God rejects both despair that says change is impossible and pride that banks good deeds against sin. The true hinge is repentance. God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, and Jesus bears His people’s punishment on the cross so they can turn, believe, and live. Hearing is not enough; His warning demands a real response and a life of ongoing repentance.

Life can feel ruled by chance, especially when danger surrounds God’s fragile and flawed people. In Ezekiel 29, God judges Egypt because Pharaoh claims divine power and Egypt fails Israel, then uses Babylon to carry out His plan. Nothing escapes His rule. At the cross, lawless men killed Jesus according to God’s definite plan, and God raised Him, turning humanity’s worst injustice into salvation from judgement. His power and devoted love answer fear with trust, the rejection of idols, and love for His church.

Ezekiel eats God's scroll, and its words taste sweeter than honey even though they announce judgement on rebellious Israel. God sends him to warn people who may refuse to listen, and gives him the strength to speak. God has not abandoned His people. Judgement may wake unbelievers to repentance, while a believer's pain is a Father's discipline, not condemnation. Christ offers forgiveness, and God's people must pray through suffering and speak His warning with compassion.

Exile left Israel far from home, wondering whether God still saw their suffering. Beside a canal in Babylon, Ezekiel sees God's radiant throne chariot moving with complete control, a vision of His glory and presence. God is not absent. He sends Ezekiel to a rebellious people with warnings, restoration and hope, showing that He still cares for the lost. Christ died for the ungodly, and love carries His news of forgiveness rather than keeping quiet.

Families cannot outsource a child’s deepest influences to churches or schools. Deuteronomy 6 places God’s words in the home, where family members take them to heart, teach them consistently, and connect them with everyday life. That influence must be gentle rather than controlling, because hypocrisy and manipulation can breed bitterness. Even where families have failed, God kept His promise through David’s broken line by bringing Jesus, and His mercy gives families another chance to begin faithfully.

A new year brings hopes for health, stable finances, happy relationships and fresh opportunities, but Scripture does not promise any of them. God's promise to Abraham reaches its fulfilment in Jesus, showing His unchanging purpose to save and His inability to lie. Jesus is the sure anchor. As the perfect high priest, He stands in God's presence on His people's behalf and holds them securely, whether the year brings fullness or painful refinement. That certainty frees anxious hearts to rest in Him and accept whatever He gives.
