When we look past who Peter became and we consider where he began, we're left with the question, Why would Jesus call a nobody? Why would Jesus start a world-wide movement with a fisherman. The reason not only reveals the heart of Jesus, but it offers each of us the encouragement of knowing that God can use us too because We are All Peter.

Rosa Parks teaches us the power of being a Good Samaritan. The social and relational capital she had from doing good, even when she was marginalized and abused, was leveraged to literally change the world. Our response to the amazing grace of God is to go and do likewise.

We study Brennan Manning to learn about grace. Brennan played both brothers in the prodigal son story as do we all. He inspires us to cling to grace and turn to Jesus.

We discuss why we worship together. We learn about how worship shapes us. We don't worship because we are worshippers, we become worshippers by worshipping. As Eugene Peterson said, "Worship is an act that produces feelings for God, not a feeling that motivates the act of worship."

Pardon the recording as we still struggle with our equipment. We talk this week about the Torah and how we must learn that to God, there is no difference between our Church life and our "Real" life. To God everything we do can be an act of worship. Whether singing in church or mowing our lawn, both can and should be worship.

As we look at our original design from Genesis 2, we learn that we were never designed to be the most important thing in our lives. When we get worship right, we can enjoy ALL of God's bounty, but when we get our worship wrong, everything falls apart. God desires our worship not because He needs it, but rather because He knows that we will by nature worship and He doesn't want us to worship something that in the end will hurt us.

For our 5th Sunday Family Service we had some fun as the Children stayed in the service with us. We Discussed our new slogan, "Serving Jesus and People, Together". The beginning of the sermon was accidentally cut, but the way we chose our slogan is still available.

Joseph the Dreamer never chased his dreams. Rather he became a person worthy of his dreams. Even more, he learned to make his dreams about something bigger than himself. We need to do the same.
