Open the Voice Gate

Yes, after a long two months away Open the Voice Gate has finally returned! Our topics are, as you might expect, many, but first and foremost we talk about the entire King of Gate tournament. What were our favorite matches from this long and grueling journey? Who stood out from the pack? In addition, we preview this week's Korakuen show as well as the five announced matches for the upcoming Kobe World event, DG's biggest show of the year, and much more!

•Please note: there is an annoying clicking sound in the last 40 minutes of the podcast that we were unable to remove. It does not render the episode unlistenable, but it is a nuisance. Just wanted to warn you ahead of time. Our apologies for the issue.

Open the Voice Gate is back only a couple weeks after our last episode, which for us is really impressive! Sadly we are once again down a man, as Dylan couldn't join us, but on the other hand Case is back from the dead! All three of us are here to discuss DEAD or ALIVE 2016, a truly amazing show that was everything we love about Dragon Gate! We talk all the major storylines including the big return, the new unit, and someone losing their hair for a full year. Plus, a quick preview of KING OF GATE, as we give our predictions on who is winning all four blocks!

Open the Voice Gate is finally back for Episode 5 (well, at least three of us are....) and we have a whole lot to discuss: quick thoughts on the Champions Gate title matches (which had not made air the last time we recorded- yes, it's been that long!), the latest Korakuen show (which John was there live for), quick thoughts on the recent Nosawa Tokyo Love show with heavy DG participation, and then previews of the upcoming Dead or Alive PPV and the King of Gate tournament. Who is losing their hair? We have no idea, but we try to guess anyway! All this plus the promised discussion of Yuji Hino's belly button and much, much more!

Open the Voice Gate is back with our full four-person panel for the first time in over a month, and boy do we have a lot to talk about! Topics include: title changes galore (Twin, Brave, and TWO Dream Gate changes since our last episode together), the Brother YASSHI Incident, the MVK (Most Valuable Kzy) continuing his ridiculous run, John's way too excited for their trip to Japan, and more! Plus we have a lot of mailbag questions to get to: what gaijin do we want to see in DG and who's our favorite past gaijin? What matches would we show to a new fan? And lots more! We also talk about the recently announced Super J Cup: who should the DG reps be? What about the reps from other companies? Finally, we wrap things up with the winners of our first-ever Dragon Gate Prom voting! Yes, DG Prom. You'll love it, I promise.

Open the Voice Gate is back with a special episode, as John is joined by Michael Spears of Inside the Gate and longtime DG reviewer Brad Garoon in our first DG Timeline episode! Today we're talking about the middle three heel units of Dragon Gate that make up quite possibly the weakest period for DG's heels in history: Real Hazard, Deep Drunkers, and Team Doi (08-10). Why were RH & DD so bad? What were the other things going on at the time that resulted in the heels being so weak? And how did things finally start recovering after Naruki Doi took over? We discuss all of this and more as we look at a controversial aspect of the most turbulent time period in DG's history!

In episode 2 of VOW's Dragon Gate podcast, all four hosts are back to discuss the enormous 2/4 Korakuen Hall show! We'll break down the entire card and give special focus to the Unit Must Disband 3-way match, as DG said goodbye to its diamonds. What's next for all the Dia.Hearts members? What are our memories of the short-lived babyface unit? Plus, we talk the Twin Gate title match from Osaka and do our first-ever Voice Gate mailbag with your questions, and much more!

It's the very first episode of VOW's new Dragon Gate-only podcast, Open the Voice Gate! John, Case, Jules, and Shane break down a turbulent 2015 in Dragon Gate, discussing the end of the Millenials & MAD BLANKEY (and the ultimate legacy of both units), the beginning of VerserK, and various other happenings. We also give out brief awards for 2015: MVP, Best Match, Best Show, and Tag Team of the Year (a real mystery, that one). Plus we briefly discuss the most recent Korakuen Hall show on 1/13 and give our predictions on the upcoming Unit Must Disband match between Monster Express and Dia.Hearts, as well as a general outlook for 2016. Who do we think is ending Shingo's title reign? How about YAMADoi's? All this and much more in episode 1 of Open the Voice Gate!
