  • When Peru Meets Spain: Same Language, Different Worlds

In this episode, we speak with a Peruvian-American woman about growing up between cultures and building a marriage with her Spanish husband.

Camila Moya reflects on being raised in California with Peruvian roots, growing up around a dominant Mexican-American culture, and later navigating partnership with someone from Spain. We talk about the differences that can exist even when people share a native language, in particular when it has colonial ties. We also explore family dynamics, communication, work, identity, and the assumptions we make about cultures that may seem similar from the outside.

She also opens up about infertility and endometriosis, and her decision to reconnect with Indigenous wisdom, nature, and traditional healing practices. She shares her experience working with a shaman and becoming pregnant three weeks later—an experience that deepened her relationship with her ancestry and the different ways we navigate this fast paced modern world.

This episode is part of our ongoing series exploring intercultural relationships and the ways culture shapes love, identity, family, and partnership.

  • Why Now is Actually a Very Hopeful Time

The headlines tell us the world is falling apart. Social media reinforces it. Even many mental health professionals have begun carrying a sense of collective hopelessness.

In this first episode, two therapists explore why this moment may actually be one of the most hopeful times to be alive. Together they discuss negativity bias, social media, cultural cycles of growth and decline, our discomfort with endings (even death), and why hope may be less about optimism and more about how we choose to engage with the world.
