April 13, 2016 Opening Night Episode 9 - 'God Only Knows' Cast Interview
This week we bring in (most) of the cast and crew for Small Dynamite Theatre Company's upcoming production of God Only Knows. This original script by Conor Maxwell deals with a broken relationship and troubled individuals (to put the text broadly and lightly sans spoilers). We ran a bit long this time, as with six people in the room, plus Dave and Matt, we wanted to make sure that we got a chance to talk to everybody. April 09, 2016 Opening Night Episode 8 - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
In episode 8 Dave and Matt check out Hamilton Playbox's production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Riverlea Theatre. We talk community, amazing set design, and how to deal with a kid's narrative about death and slavery. Playbox partnered up with Waikato based health care organisation True Colours which raises money with the community to support children with serious illnesses and their families. So not only does attending this show help out a wonderful theatre community giving kids a chance on stage to be creative, but it seriously feeds back into the community to places where support is dearly needed. Well done to everyone involved.

We also talk with editor Dr Tracey Slaughter about the birth of Mayhem Literary Journal, and with local writers Joshua Morris, Karl Guethert, and Melody Wilkinson about their Mayhem work. We recommend checking out their pieces before listening to the episode (links below)

Suicide, Sluts, Vaginas, Rape, Alcoholism, Writing; Mayhem Live lives up to its name. Dave and Matt discuss Small Dynamite Theatre Company's collaboration with Mayhem Literary Journal in Mayhem Live, a one night only show of adaptations of literary works from Mayhem. This was a unique piece of theatre, specifically in the way that you can go and purchase a copy of the Mayhem anthology to check out many of the pieces from Mayhem Live in their original written form!
