If you're not an FBFL team, you may want to skip this one but the guys spend time analyzing both drafts from Saturday, September 4th and hand out grades to how the teams did plus they analyze player spots in the draft and make fun of owners and each other a lot so even if you don't have a team, you may enjoy this. If you're an FBFL owner, you won't want to miss how they rip on your decisions!
Back to FOOTBALL! We spend get the Boom, Bust and Sleepers back out and give everyone poor fantasy advice as always. Bear has a nice solo riff as he lets everyone know who his Big Baller is for the year. We do talk about the big day that happened the previous Saturday which was DRAFT DAY! Find out who got drunk and hear a couple stories that went on during the day.
AJ GET's DRUNK!! The poor Assistant to the Produca gets SMASHED prior to the podcast even starting so he's a mess that just can't complete a thought. At the 1 hour 44 minute mark you can really hear how smashed AJ is! The guys go over past draft picks that were fun and stupid, like almost all of Bear's pick in the 3rd round of every year. They talk some sports money talk and the show how far behind the financial times baseball is in right now. And lastly they go over protected player thoughts for the upcoming draft!
The boys completed another draft, this was standard format so no PPR. It's interesting to watch the pieces fall into place and most importantly, find out if we get the YoungHOE! We also make our predictions for the Vegas prop bets for the upcoming NFL season. They do talk a little baseball including the Field of Dreams game AND the absolute horrific way MLB does the salary tax instead of cap.
The Produca had some issues a couple weeks ago with that big red button that says "Record" so this one is pretty late because we had to find the time again. We debut the single of Lil' Kit Kat, a.k.a. Nick Runco. Lots of NFL talk as we do a live ESPN draft while talking about other items making time fly! See how well the talking heads do when they put them together against random NFL fans. We also rip on A-Aron Rodgers for a bit, discuss Eli Manning's HoF statistics and then dive into the MLB and the All-Star Game.
Back to full staff as AJ comes back and we have a special return treat in a song he's never heard before and judging by the age of our listeners, neither have most of you. The boys talk about players who almost hit that elusive .400 average mark in a season, chat about the NCAA's decision to allow a little money to flow to players, the Chicago Bears possible move and lastly, we go over next seasons rule decisions in the FBFL.
Opi & Bear fly mostly as a duet as we talk with Ron "RJ" Trettin. A buddy of the podcast and avid listener who has been coaching baseball over 25 seasons at all sorts of levels including high school. Discover his riveting story on how he rose to HS coaching and turned a local baseball organization around all in a short time period. We also talk to him about his baseball philosophies and how it works today compared to the past. RJ, Bear and Opi reminisce about some "good ole days" back with the Welldiggers and dig up RJ's wedding day story.
The guys talk about Ryan's man cave décor and the filth that it represents along with discussing the Julio Jones debacle, Aaron Rodgers debacle (like everyone else has), no-hitters, great hitters and lastly we have a good discussion and predictions on when the first round quarterbacks are actually going to play for the teams that drafted them. Another fun episode finished up with an interesting little game.
