John Lund, KNBR, hosts sports talk show and is the pre and post-game show host the the San Francisco 49ers, joins the show to talk about the Thursday night matchup between the Niners and Seahawks.
Puck and Lund worked together back in the early 2000’s in Portland at 910 The Fan.
Both teams are dealing with injuries and both teams understand how important the game is tonight. The loser will have an uphill climb to make the playoffs.
San Francisco has had trouble with man to man coverage and their receivers not winning those battles, something John said will be a key tonight against Seattle. Another key will be can the Seahawks move the ball on the ground, something that Arizona was able to do last week against the 49ers.
Brock Purdy has had the Seahawks number, but has struggled a bit this season. John tells Puck that he’s had a habit of leaving the pocket early and taking too many unnecessary hits.
Lastly, John wonders if the Niners have put too much emphasis on this game tonight and if they lose how much does it affect the rest of the season?
