This week we are going in with the Iron Condor strategy on IWM (Russell 2000 ETF).

The reason for choosing this option trade is that the market has been volatile for a few weeks now. Although QQQ is more volatile than IWM, my assumption is that IWM has a better chance of staying in a range over the next few weeks vs QQQ, so I am choosing to make my trade there. Purely my assumption, but you can only trade on your own assumptions. :)

The reason for choosing this option trade is that the oil market (as we are all aware at the gas pump) has been extremely volatile. We'll skew this trade slightly downward (meaning the Call Side will be closer to the stock price than the Put Side) to leave more room for it to fall from here than go up.

This week we are going in with the Skewed Iron Condor strategy on GLD (Gold ETF).

The reason for choosing this option trade is that GLD volatility has spiked over the last couple weeks as the price has shot way up.

As a contrarian, I am going to bet there is more of a chance the price goes down from here then up. So, I will move the Call Side closer to the stock price then the Put Side (Meaning I am "Skewing it downward") to allow that potential downward movement.
