This was an exciting encounter near our Little Rain Lake Preserve in Clay county. Our land manager, Matt Greene, was present during this encounter while on a Christmas Bird Count with a group. Matt mentioned this is the largest Florida black bear he has encountered. Florida black bear presence is apparent in this area, that is why it is important to save land, like Little Rain Lake Preserve, that creates corridors for these animals to roam. : Kelly O'Connor . . . #northfloridawild #claycounty #floridablackbear #igersjax #o2owildlifecorridor #news4jax #nflt #northfloridalandtrust #landconservation
