  • OCLF - 2021 | Kaveri Bamzai on "Let's Talk about Stars and Stardom in Bollywood" In Conversation with Shabbir Shakir

I always chased Bollywood over Hollywood. All starts of Bollywood are so high status now. When I began in 1988, professionally, there were no steps, but stardom came easily. At that time reaching to star was easy if you knew the secretary number. Actually, in those days, stars answered the phone by themselves. Now the level of engagement between start and journalist has widened. These days all-stars have around 12 people around at any point—people such as make0up man, hairstylist, social media manager, stylist etc. Stars only give interviews to promote films, and that is it. They want to e written about on our terms and not on their terms. All the controversies around stars are not deliberate, such as the Black Buck killing case of Salman Khan, running over a car on a footpath; these were uninvited. But yes, many times, a star wants to move a story even if it is negative. For example, Amir Khan Divorce was very well stage-managed to wipe out an unnecessary murmur. So they propagate stories which find suitable. Stars who spoke against the Government, in whatever the case may be, have negative consequences like tax raids etc. So they should avoid such powerful forces as Governments. And many do the same.

  • OCLF - 2021 | Naveen Choudhary on "'ढाई चाल - सत्ता के लिए वर्चस्व की लड़ाई... In Conversation with Dipankar Mukherjee

The novel 'Dhai Chaal' is an exciting story of politics of the moment. The battle for the strength of power among some political sections has begun, towards which the common people of the country are strengthened with great expectations. This story is of those who make a sexual offence a political place, which people expect together for justice. A criminal narrative of the Nexus of religion, race, media, and politics is not a matter of a fictional or distant world; there is a raw letter of everyday happenings around us. A story of political equations that are going on within deceit and personal relationships that are shocking but not unreliable. Politics that has spread roots in home and relationships is the biggest entertainment of our time, politics which is now a thriller.

  • OCLF - 2021 | Indira Chandrashekhar On Phool Aur Kaante: Stories from the Indian Subcontinent In Conversation with Swami Ahmed

My father was a scientist, and my mother was an artist, so I tried to create a wonderful combination out of this. Migrating to the world, I came back to India to know my roots. Mumbai has had a great influence on my writing. My father was an alumnus of Nagpur University who won gold medals in his academic life. So we are connected with Nagpur. Many things were happening in contemporary India to investigate. I met many writers who were aligned with issues and thought of starting a magazine. It was Subcontinental magazine people writing from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and another diaspora. I have naive thoughts about the commonality of all these writings, which need to be investigated differently. "Phul Aur Kanten" is a unique title. It has everything a story needs to have. "Out of Print" is a collection of interesting stories which are indeed out of print.

  • OCLF - 2021 | Bharat Dabholkar On "Be Brief Be memorable and Change the Game" - in Conversation with Sanjay Arora

“The advertising scenario has changed from what was previously. Today people are doing in 4 minutes what we were doing in 30 seconds. The product needs to be at the centre point of any advertisement, and the most effective advertisement is a simple advertisement. The core product of Amul Industry is its Butter. So whenever we are doing an ad for Amul Butter, the factor needs to be there every time. Amul Girl is a highly successful campaigner for Amul, specifically designed to promote Amul Butter. We have launched Amul Cheese, Amul Milk and other products. We rejuvenated Amul Girl and made her brand icon. Ad Industry is highly dynamic where we have changed accordingly. For every specific event, there is a new ad. I always tried to bring local language actors who were brilliant in performance. English actors couldn't perform that way. I started doing Dramas in my early days. Then I entered mainstream cinemas. Many issues are there I am careful about while campaigning about one is religion and second women. It is better to stay away from controversy.”

  • OCLF - 2021 | Anish Andheria “Conservation of Wildlife in A Rapidly Changing Nation” In Conversation with Adv Kartik Shukul

“An individual can be drawn to various parts of natural life preservation. Somebody should focus on saving a specific animal variety; others might need to secure a weak environment, while some might be keen on approach. Whatever be the inspiration, the way to turning into a fruitful traditionalist is comparable and loaded with difficulties. One may invest long periods of hard effort to get an approach executed; however, an adjustment of government can topple things short-term. A progressive who has spent a lifetime saving a fix of backwoods can lose it any day to an artificial woods fire. Thus, one must be ready for a wide range of disasters while venturing into the field of wildlife preservation. These days, our endeavours for natural life preservation could add to the rebuilding of positive financial results in these not exactly stable world monetary conditions. Natural life, which makes for decent environmental exercise, has affected the quality and amount of new water that we drink. Our endeavours to misleadingly purge water to make up for applicable environmental harm could be only a serious monetary misfortune. There is one more motivation behind getting ready for untamed life protection. Diverse wild creatures and plant species frequently function as signs of different ecological issues and fiascoes. Additionally, monitoring natural life presents some instructive advantages, mental upgrades, and positive monetary elements. Albeit numerous states and non-government organizations have been keeping watch for feasible preservation procedures, more adjusted methodologies and long haul drives are to be made for outstanding achievement in untamed life protection.”
