Bands always need a place to practice and in the 1990s, Bandwest Studios, directly across from Angel Stadium, was an awesome practice venue. The rooms were big, clean, and many a night a band like Triggerman would be practicing and they'd run into their friends in Farside, Outspoken, or whoever else might be there. You could rent a PA system, mics, mic stands, and whatever else you needed to be able to harness your band's skills. *

If you went to shows in Orange County in the 1990s, you went to Koo's Cafe. This intimate coffee shop/scene spot was Orange County's answer to the Viper Room. With such groups as Farside and Gameface being mainstays, Koo's was never beholden to any particular band, sound, even scene. All were welcome in this inspirational hub that came into existence because Dennis Lluy and a few others wanted to give people a place to be creative and express themselves.

ICE was a band I did from 1990-1994. Our first "show" was at the house  of our first bassplayer, Shawn Krogsgaard, in 1990. This short video  (with not the best audio) recounts playing that show, doing the band,  and how you never know what's going to come of the creative pursuits you  start!
