Orange Lounge Radio

The drama continues in the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger story, as this week it comes out that Microsoft has offered Sony Call of Duty for use on Playstation Plus. However, this doesn't stop the FTC from pushing forward with their case. What do we think of this latest development? And how do we think this would all be different if Sony was the ones trying to make the purchase? We talk about all this and much more in another week of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio!

A whole mess has been made in the Smash Bros. competitive tournament scene, with statements from Smash World Tour, Nintendo, and Panda Global all leading in different directions causing some very big moves by those involved. We discuss the news, and how it might be indicative of key communication problems within an apparently siloed Nintendo. Late in our show, a long time podcast listener calls in to help us make sense of the issue, and share a really cool small community ritual he partakes in every week. Community is a big part of why we come back to Video Games, and another episode of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio!

The Activision/Blizzard merger with Microsoft has been great for one thing, and that's leaks and statements from court documents! It appears all NDAs are off the table when it comes to topics like the Playstation 6, true feelings about the Battlefield franchise, and much more. Could the government be stepping in to try and stop this merger? Only time will tell for sure. A lot of time. We get into this and much more news on another week of Orange Lounge Radio!

Dedicated to FatNinjaDM, Rest in Power

New details about the PSVR2 were announced this week, though surprisingly it was all done via a press release, and not thru a special "direct" style presentation, or a live conference. Did Sony do this due to the high price tag of the device? The availability of it (or lack thereof?) We theorize and discuss this week on the show. Our gaming weeks, more gaming news, and plenty of tangent trains make up another episode of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio!

The news slows down a little bit for this week leading into Halloween and some more major video game releases (with Bayonetta 3 having released this past week). However there are still some big headlines, including the fact that Microsoft/Xbox may soon be joining the $70 price tag club. It certianly seems immenent (well, in 2023 anyway) some of the subscription fees may go up, so we discuss ideas how to get savings on subscriptions now. How much do subscriptions really make up the revenue at Microsoft though? We discuss this and more on another week of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio!

This week, Google announced that they will be ending the Stadia service in January 2023.
