ORB: A Venture Bros. Podcast

This week we're joined by our first guest, Gwen Static, who composed our theme song! She helps us talk about a very good episode that introduces a very good character: Dr. Byron Orpheus, a tenant who is renting space at the Venture compound to help defray some costs. Orpheus catches wind of some dark science Rusty is cooking up, while his daughter Triana catches the eye of a clueless Dean.

We'll be up front with you: this is not our favorite episode of the Venture Bros. Team Venture heads to Brisbyland at the request of the business magnate Roy Brisby, a stand-in for Walt Disney. Unfortunately, Brisby is a megalomaniac, and the boys get wrapped up in a paramilitary effort to thwart his landgrabbing ways.

It's a two-villain pileup on this week's ORB! Baron Ünderbheit has sworn vengeance on Rusty Venture after he shirked his duties as a lab partner. This is complicated by the fact that Monarch has also sworn vengeance. And Brock is on sabbatical, dealing with the Six Million Dollar Man and his woodsy love interest. The odds are stacked against the boys, but at least they've got one piss-reeking panic room to keep them safe.

How do you follow in the footsteps of the man who built the ninth wonder of the world? Not by pissing in your own boots. The Ventures head to Gargantua-1, a massive space station, to try and make the PROBLEM light turn off. Brock gets tied up in a love triangle between two weirdos, and the boys hunt down the Phantom Space Man.

The Venture Bros would take some time to blossom into the miracle it becomes, but even this episode, directly after the pilot, is a monumental leap forward.

Welcome to our coverage of the worst episode of the Venture Bros.! Dr. Venture has been invited to demonstrate his newest invention at the U-nited Nations, and he's brought the boys along to get a taste of big city living. Meanwhile, the Monarch watches and schemes.
