The Beast is back! This time it’s GenCon 2025, a 72,000 attendee roleplaying game convention held annually in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Beast and Jason were on staff at the R Talsorian booth, helping to sell Cyberpunk RED and getting Mike Pondsmith to meetings with other RPG companies. It was a fun six days and while not much GIJoe’ing happened, it was still a blast.

At Assembly Required 2024, in Des Moines, Iowa, Jason and Josh Blaylock sat down to chat Disavowed. Their conversation went from GIJoe to the comics industry to the 80s and 90s and beyond. But they also focused on Josh’s latest Secret Paramilitary project, Disavowed.

Disavowed has a lot of meaning for GIJoe fans, secret government agency fandoms, and for Josh specifically and he’s taking ownership of it in a huge way. He’s creating not just an homage, but a whole vibe of the late 80’s, early 90’s and today with his decades jumping tale of United Five and their secret missions around the world.

Break out your old Betamaxx tapes, beepers, and British Knight pump high tops, grab your bowl of Booberry cereal and get ready for Disavowed.

Alyosha, sometimes known as JE Russell, sat down with Jason to talk about Kickin’ the Chicken: A Toy Horse Story.

This is Chicken Fried Toys most recent kickstarter and it’s coming to a close. This run is all about horses, a mule, and a tongue in cheek homage to our favorite 80’s toyline: Cow-Bruh. Also in this line is the face sculpt of Ron Rudat, the figure designer known for creating the Cobra symbol and the first 120+ GIJoe figures from 1982 to 1986 !

The kickstarter ends on Monday, 18 November at 7:30pm (1930) Central Standard Time. So do not delay! Do your all in and add a few hundred Cow-Bruh troop builders to your Dime Novel Legends display. Create the 19th century version of your favorite 80’s bad guy organization! And the heroes that fought ‘em.

Mark Gerwig (Mark2Design) sat down with Jason to talk about Joelanta 2024. It was the same weekend as the horrendous Hurricane Helene and the boys wanted to chat about the surreal moment of being at a toy show while the South East dealt with the weather.

Joelanta is the late summer/fall version of the main Toylanta show, in March.  This year was impacted by weather, but the boys still had a great time.
