Ordinariate Audio

At an Ordination on the Eve of the Solemnity of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, Bishop Steven J. Lopes reflected on the patronage of those two Apostles for the ministry of the Ordinariate.

The Mass of Ordination (for Andrew James Westerman and Jeffrey Lee Baker) was held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham in Houston, Texas.

In July 2023, Bishop Steven J. Lopes presented this homily during a Mass said for the Summer Conference of the Napa Institute, held in Napa, Calif.

The Napa Institute, founded in 2011, "empowers Catholic leaders to renew the Church and transform the culture."

In September 2021, Bishop Steven J. Lopes was the keynote speaker at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C.

In early 2019, Bishop Steven J. Lopes spoke in Oklahoma City at the quarterly luncheon of the Assembly of Catholic Professionals, a membership organization sponsored by the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma.

Bishop Steven J. Lopes delivered the Plenum Address at the January 2019 Southwest Liturgical Conference Study Week.

In November 2015, Pope Francis named Msgr. Steven J. Lopes to serve as the first bishop of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.

A news conference announcing the appointment took place at the Ordinariate's Chancery in Houston, Texas.

After initial remarks, Bishop-elect Lopes and Monsignor Jeffrey Steenson, a former bishop of The Episcopal Church who served as the Ordinariate's initial Ordinary, took questions from reporters.
