At the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham in Houston, Texas, Bishop Steven J. Lopes preached at a Votive Mass of the Holy Spirit commemorating of the Tenth Anniversary of "Anglicanorum Coetibus."

That apostolic constitution, issued by Pope Benedict XVI in 2009, authorized the creation of Catholic "ordinariates" (similar to dioceses) that would be permitted to retain elements of Anglican heritage and liturgical practices.

"Anglicanorum Coetibus" was a response to persistent inquiries from Anglican groups worldwide seeking to become Catholic. 

On the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, Bishop Steven J. Lopes preached on Luke 9 at Christ the King Church in Towson, Md.

In early 2019, Bishop Steven J. Lopes spoke in Oklahoma City at the quarterly luncheon of the Assembly of Catholic Professionals, a membership organization sponsored by the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma.
