Have you ever wondered whether you should be focusing your efforts more on organizing or decluttering in your home?
It seems everywhere you go on the internet someone has a different answer. One blogger says, “Organize! Everything! All the time!” Another guru proclaims, “Minimalism is the only way!”
Today we're going to dive into this. Who’s right – organizing, or decluttering?
What you’ll learn:
· The organizer’s brain vs. the declutterer’s brain
· What you actually need to do (aka, combine the two)
· How to help your family find everything in the house (without bothering you!)
Here’s what I want you to do. Take the good part of organization, which is always knowing where something is. And take the good part of decluttering, which is having less stuff to put away.
You’re going to combine these two philosophies.
Do a grand declutter. Get rid of as much as possible so that you don't have a bazillion things laying around that you have to deal with. You know, right size your living.
And once you’re done, find homes for every item that made the cut. So you always know that if you go to that spot, you'll find it.
What do you think? Are you on the “need to find homes for things” spectrum, or more on the “need to ditch a ton of stuff first” side of things?
You’ve got this!
