Hace unas semanas tuve un concierto en Makinacrea, un local ubicado en Caracas en la zona de La Lagunita. En este concierto tocamos 11 temas en total, reuniendo varios EP’s de Jorge en un solo concierto, pero hoy quiero compartirles una pequeña parte del show mostrándoles una de las canciones.

Algo particular de los temas de Jorge son los títulos, una se titula “Quiero el copete de Alex Turner”, otra se llama “Un coñazo en el tobillo con un monopatín”, y en este caso estamos tocando “Un dibujo de una bicicleta escoñetada”. Como pueden ver son muy elocuentes sus títulos 😂

A few weeks ago I had a gig at Makinacrea, a venue located in Caracas in the area of La Lagunita. In this concert we played 11 songs in total, gathering several of Jorge's EP's in one concert, but today I want to share with you a small part of the gig showing you one of the songs. Something particular about Jorge's songs are the titles, one is called “Quiero el copete de Alex Turner” (I want Alex Turner's copete), another one is called “Un coñazo en el tobillo con un monopatín” (An ankle strike with a skateboard), and in this case we are playing “Un dibujo de una bicicleta escoñetada” (A drawing of a broken bicycle). As you can see their titles are very eloquent 😂

What people say! Today I want to share with you a cover I did in collaboration with my guitarist friend Paola Di Girolamo and the beautiful singer Oriana Rizza. The three of us love Rosalia and we wanted to join together to make our version of Sakura with a more upbeat flow 💃

Sakura 🌸 is not exactly one of Rosalia's most popular songs, but it has beautiful lyrics where there are two phrases that I love, these are:

- "There's only risk if there's something to lose, the flames are beautiful because they have no order and the fire is beautiful because it breaks everything."

Hello everybody! A few days ago I had told you that last October 21st I had my debut gig with Meganova, my girl rock band. We were playing in the event *'Zona Nuevas Bandas'* opening for the band Nomasté, which is also a very well known girl band in the city.

This event took place at Sabroso Restaurant, located in Las Mercedes, Caracas. It's a place where they do a lot of gigs and it's located below the well known nightclub La Quinta Bar, so it's a place that is usually very crowded, also we played on a Saturday night, many of our friends were able to attend to see us, and there was a lot of receptivity from the public, many people came up to us to greet us and ask us about the project.

For this gig we had a short set, 20 minutes, where we included some rock classics, so today I bring you an excerpt of our first show playing *'Highway to hell'*, the classic of AC/DC, a band that we like a lot and can never miss in the repertoire.

This was just our first show, we are getting to know each other on stage and developing our chemistry, you know that's something that you get to know with time playing together, but it seems to me that for our first show we were very fluid between all of us. Hola a todos! Hace unos días les había comentado que el pasado 21 de Octubre tuve concierto debut con Meganova, mi banda de rock de chicas. Estuvimos tocando en el evento *‘Zona Nuevas bandas’* abriendo para la banda Nomasté, que también es una banda de chicas muy conocida en la ciudad.

Este evento tuvo lugar en Sabroso Restaurant, ubicado en Las Mercedes, Caracas. Es un local donde realizan bastantes conciertos y se encuentra debajo de la conocida discoteca La Quinta Bar, por lo que es un sitio que suele estan muy concurrido, además tocamos un sabádo por la noche, bastantes de nuestros amigos lograron asistir para vernos, y hubo mucha receptividad de parte del público, muchas personas se nos acercaron a felicitarnos y preguntarnos sobre el proyecto.

Para este gig tuvimos un set corto, de 20 minutos, donde incluimos algunos clásico del rock, por eso hoy les traigo un extracto de nuestro primer show tocando *‘Highway to hell’*, el clásico de AC/DC, una banda que nos gusta mucho y nunca puede faltar en el repertorio.

Esta apenas fue nuestra primer show, nos estamos conociendo en tarima y desarollando nuestra quimica en el escenario, saben que eso es algo que se va agarrando con el tiempo de ir tocando juntas, pero me parece que para ser nuestro primer show nos vimos fluidas entre todas. ¿Ustedes que opinan? ¡Qué dice la gente! Espero se encuentren muy bien. En el video de hoy les comento 5 estrenos musicales que salieron esta semana pasada y que me encantaron. En el video les doy una pequeña reseña de cada tema asi que los invito a darle play para que sepan de que va cada una. About the Master Class

Orestes currently resides in Mexico, but he was recently in Venezuela and among his activities in the country was the realization of this Master Class.

The event took place at El Marchante, a vinyl store located in San Bernardino, in the city of Caracas. The class took place in the green areas of the place, in an open space that was set up with drums, sound and chairs.

Sobre la Master Class

Orestes reside actualmente en México, pero recientemente estuvo de paso por Venezuela y entre sus actividades en el país estuvo la realización de esta Master Class.

El evento tuvo lugar en El Marchante, local de vinilos ubicado en San Bernardino, en la ciudad de Caracas. La clase fue en las areas verdes de local, en un espacio abierto que acondicionaron con la batería, sonido y sillas.

La clase fue muy completa, por mencionar algunos de los puntos que trató, tenemos:

- Tipos de bateristas y que equipos necesita cada uno.

- Trabajar con samples y triggers en la batería.

- Marketing y atención al cliente para baterista.

- Elementos a tomar en cuenta para volverte un musico distintivo.

- Técnica y experiencia en la batería.

- Experiencia con el OP-1.

- La importancia de aprender otras cosas además de la ejecución instrumental, ya que, en su palabras, “tocar bien no lo es todo” cuando quieres monetizar la música.

- La importancia de ser felices a través del instrumento, encontrando eso que realmente nos mueve y apasiona dentro del oficio de ser músico.

My experience

Going to Orestes' master class was an enriching and inspiring experience, I feel very grateful for have this opportunity to learn from him, because it helped me to rethink the way I approach music, how I organize my musical study, and made me realize that there is so much to study that goes beyond the instrument and allows me to nurture myself in this career.

I left there motivated and with much more clarity of where to go, really super happy with this master class, wishing that these activities for drummers continue to take place in my country more and more.

Mi experiencia

Ir a la clase magistral de Orestes fue una experiencia enriquecedora e inspiradora, me siento muy agradecida por haber tenido esta oportunidad donde aprender de él, ya que me ayudó a replantearme la manera en la que abordo la música, el cómo organizo mi estudio musical, y me hizo caer en cuenta de todo lo que hay por estudiar que va más allá del instrumento y me permite de igual manera nutrirme en esta carrera.

Salí de allí motivada y con mucha más claridad de hacia donde ir, de verdad que super contenta con esta master class, deseando que estas actividades para bateristas se sigan realizando en mi país cada vez más.

Existen muchas maneras para salir de nuestra zona de confort, como músico y creativa pienso que es importante la versatilidad, es por ello que como baterista nunca me gustó encerrarme en un solo género musical, y aprendí a tocar varios: jazz, rock, funk, afro, disco, ska y más.

Ahora que me estoy desarrollando como realizadora audiovisual, considero que es importante arriesgarme a probar distintas técnicas y estéticas, e ir aprendiendo en el proceso de creación según los gustos y necesidades de cada cliente.

Hace unas semanas se me presentó la oportunidad de cubrir en video el evento de rap "Puestos pa la vuelta", realizado por la productora Smoll Record. Esto representó algo nuevo para mi ya que era la primera vez que trabajaba con artistas de hip hop, algo que me sacó de mi zona de confort y me llevó a probar un acabado con más efectos y transiciones.

Tuve la oportunidad de tener par de gigs con una banda llamada Caracas Funky Town, esta agrupación tiene como destino interpretar versiones de temas pop, funk y soul bastante comerciales, pero ademas de los covers también se incluía en el setlist al rededor de 3 a 4 temas originales por set.
