Orlando Grace Church

Miracles are an absolutely essential part of the Christian faith and in Joshua 10 we see one of the most famous (or infamous) miracles as God seems to make the sun stand still. This morning, I would like us to look at...

I. The miracle in this story

II. What this miracle teaches us

III. The importance of miracles in Christianity

In this special three-part sermon presentation, Pastor Jim Davis is joined by guests Greg Willson (Lead Planter of Redeemer Church in Manchester, England) and Jonathan Gilmore (National Director of Act29 Italy) to discuss how believers should be on mission in the post-Christian contexts of Orlando, Manchester, Salerno, and beyond.

Joshua 9:1-27

The Israelites were deceived by the Gibeonites because they did

not ask counsel from the Lord. There is much more going on than

what we can see which is why we must seek the Lord in our decisions.

In this passage we see...

1. Why we must seek the Lord

2. How to seek the Lord

3. The importance of trusting God after a decision has been made

Romans 5:1-11

In Romans 5:1-11, we see one of the great implications of the

Christian gospel: peace with God. In this passage we see....

1. What it means to have peace with God

2. How our peace with God opens access to His presence

3. The price that was paid to have peace with God

Joshua 7

In Joshua 7 we see an uncomfortable picture of the wrath of God.

But, if we understand the wrath of God in the story of Achan,

we can both fear that wrath and more deeply understand the grace

we receive in Jesus Christ.

1. The cause of God's wrath

2. The response to God's wrath

3. The execution of God's wrath

Colossians 2:6-23

1. What do we naturally do with our shame?

2. What does the Christian do with their shame?

3. What do you do with your shame?

1 Peter 1:22-2:3

Peter reminds us that since we have life through God's imperishable word, we must love one another.

1. God's imperishable word makes us new to love one another.

2. God's imperishable word purifies us to love one another.

3. God's imperishable word matures us to love one another.

Joshua 5:13-6:27

In this passage, we see how God delivered Jericho over to Israel and

from it we also see a pattern for how the better promised land will be

delivered to us. God required three things of Joshua and gave him two.

1. What God required

Submission

Faith

Obedience

2. What God gave

Jericho

Rahab

Joshua 3:1-5:12

The long awaited day has finally come: passing into the promised land.

God instructs His people as they enter the land to do three things.

Three things that we too must do if we are going to walk into and

enjoy the better promised land.

1. Trust in His presence

2. Remember His goodness

3. Accept His gift

Joshua 2

Joshua 2 is a beautiful story of God pursuing Rahab and

a picture of how He has pursued all who believe in Him.

1. Rahab's situation

2. Rahab's salvation

3. Rahab's faith
