Ever wondered what a rehearsal session is like for a card magician?

This was a session recorded from way back. My one and only recording of a rehearsal just days before one of my one man shows debuted in my city, Birmingham.

This specific piece is called "Battle of Wits II".

Enjoy!

This was recorded during my 10 month hitch hiking journey from England to Istanbul in 2017-2018.

The burpee will always be the king of all exercises. Nothing is more time efficient, hassle free and effective in engaging in a good old burpees.

Compound movements. Cardio. Fat burner. Muscle builder. Fast twich muscle developer. High intensive. Nervous system conditioning. Economy of movement. Efficiency in simplicity.

Uploaded primarily to my youtube page where all my FUCKING friends are still enjoying the bad algoriddemz, hard censorship and tight thought-policing over there.

Might need to invest in a cannon next. I need a cannon to get my message heard. Srs.

The pipe to me is a piece of nature i can carry anywhere with me.

After 5 years of pipe-smoking i can irrefutably tell you that there is no activity in the arena of "chilling" that tops pipe-smoking for me.

Pipe-smoking to me is a daytime/evening activity; it gives a chance to defragment from all the bullshit in my head. The act of pipe-smoking, the ritual and the experience allows me to separate myself from all the troubles and woes, as well as the frantic rush of this world.

My most favourite pipe is the Savinelli Roma Lucite 122, reminding me always of my most favourite Labrador.

In terms of pipe and tobacco selection, i have done videos on this before. Probably now lost somewhere...though on hive there's this video https://peakd.com/hive-181335/@jin-out/kqtgyvnc

Thanks for stopping by!

In the realm of card artistry (a branch that falls under the discipline of Prestidigitation), it's always impressive to be able to locate all 13 cards of a specific suit. When a card man produces all 13 cards of a suit, the nomenclature within the Fraternity is called "Suit Production".

"Thirteen Silences" was an exercise of applying silence to a full suit production, each card produced added another layer to the ongoing drama. As the artist strips away all superfluous communications, only allowing silence to remain, the audience is given an opportunity to experience the entire sequence visually without verbal distractions. It's this subtle use of psychology that keeps my sleight of hand under the radar, as i am manipulating my audience's expectation of the next card to be produced...

...i am always one step ahead. "A man without a plan is not a man" (Dick Tracy, 1990).

Yet this type of suit production sequence in pure silence forces the artist to use other tools at hand to ensure perfect attention control (often mis-labeled as "mis" direction...there is no "mis"...everything is done for a reason...a glance...a gesture...a nod...a wink...i am always one ahead...). We must not forget the underlying level of technique must be perfect, which is the foundation i work on.

No use hiding an unperfected technique with superfluous distractions. Better to allow my audience to look me straight in the eye, observing my hands, watching like a hawk. On video we have the privilege of rewinding...but in real time...

....Thirteen Silences.

Need i say more? 😄 😄 😄

ITS TIME TO GET DOWN!!!!

My four pillars that constitute my daily building blocks:

From Romley via "Justinian Deception"

This was shot during my time working for Spicers LTD, before they shut down in 2021 for good. The footage was recorded during the last three months working at Spicers, from September 2021 to December 2021.

The video itself was first posted on odysee.com. I also had a backup of this video, which got corrupted, until four years later i managed to find it again.

It was also good to see my old classic Falcon Pipe, with a curved mouth bit and straight stem, alongside a Plymouth smooth bowl. May need to get me another Falcon pipe soon.

I look back at myself, seeing the change and (if i must admit it) observing the darkness of the times affecting me throughout the following years, i can only say that i have tried to stick to the course.

What i speak about in this video i still speak about to this day. Anyone willing to lend an ear will have my full truth; anyone wishing to do their part for what beauty, what freedom, what dignity is left in this world shall have a friend in me.

Staying vigilant since 2020...

still vigilant now.
