WARNING!!!! This is a show that features the use of GRUNTSPEAK prominently. This is not a show for children or for people who are easily offended. This is an E-9 giving an E-3 the business. You have been warned.
Terrence Popp was an Infantry Soldier, Airborne Ranger, and Green Beret in the U.S. Army. He retired at the rank of 1SGT. Transitioning out of the military was not easy for many reasons and after getting close to the edge, comedy was a way back.
Terrence wrote, “The Warrior’s Way & the Soldier’s Soul”. This book spoke to me almost 10 years ago to the day and I felt like one of my Staff Non-Commissioned Officers was talking to me as I was driving my 5-Ton out to the field.
As time went on Popp started a YouTube Channel called Terrence Popp that showed guys like me going through hard times in our life how to win through humor. The only thing to quit is quitting is the message he has spoken about since day one and I can tell you that message was there when the going has been tough.

The Veterans Kitchen hosted World War II Veterans on September 8th, 2022. This was done with help from the Veterans Brotherhood VM/C, The Fall River War Veterans Council, Andy Biggio, author of “The Rifle”, and City Councilors Linda Pereira, and Laura Washington. I learned a lot about the work The Veterans Kitchen does and the World War II Veterans they serve.
Andy Biggio, who wrote “The Rifle” talked about the story of his book, and every World War II Veteran signed his special M1 Garand Afterwards I got to talk with two World War Two Army Veterans and their stories took me back to a different time in Fall River’s and America’s history.
Dawn and Andy from The Veterans Kitchen told me how they got started with only $60.00 and now serve many Veterans in the Fall River area.
David and Kelli Danforth closed out my time by talking about how husband and wife work together to advocate for Veterans. David is an Army National Guard Veteran and member of the Veterans Brotherhood Veterans Motorcycle Club.
I want to thank everyone who participated in this event and talked with me. There is still time to capture the memories of those who served in World War II. Fall River, MA is an example of non-profit groups and city leaders can work together to ensure care is provided to Veterans.
George Amaral was drafted and served in the Army as a Combat Engineer.
Edmund, “Eddie” Nibbs volunteered and served in the Army in Infantry and as an Ordnance Clerk.
Dawn and Andrew started the Veterans Kitchen with $60.00 and have grown it to serve more Veterans every year. Andrew is an Air Force Veteran
David is an Army National Guard Veteran and member of Veterans Brotherhood V/MC. His wife Kelli and him both ride together and find purpose advocating for Veterans.

Abington Massachusetts Veterans Service Officer Adam Gunn reached out to me about interviewing two brothers who served during World War Two. Pat, “Skinny”, who is 101 years old, and his brother Walter who is 99 years old grew up and served out of Abington, Massachusetts.
Walter served in Military Police in the Army. Skinny was a Supply Depot Manager in the Marine Corps. Skinny is the oldest person and Marine that I have ever had on Oscar Mike Radio.
Joining us was Massachusetts State Representative Allyson Sullivan who grew up in Abington and knows these Veterans well.
This story is unique that two brothers served in different branches, in different parts of the world, and then came home and made lives for themselves after World War Two.
Thank you, Adam Gunn and State Representative Allyson Sullivan, for putting together my time with Walter and Skinny. World War Two Veterans are a treasure, and I appreciate how you both work to preserve the legacy they built for us.

Note: This conversation contains mature subject matter and language about PTSD and the effects of PTSD.
I want to start off with a thank you to Paula Anne of Ablaze Entertainment for introducing me to Chris and Woody. I am proud to support those who are first responders, EMS, and law enforcement personally and as Oscar Mike Radio.
Chris and Woody have over four decades of law enforcement experience. They came on Oscar Mike Radio to talk about how PTSD affects Law Enforcement. Over the course of their career, situations they experienced started to take their toll on them and negatively impacted their lives
Knowing they needed help, Chris and Woody went to Deer Hollow Recovery and Wellness to get help for their trauma. After going through treatment, they were committed to helping their fellow Law Enforcement brothers and sisters avoid a permanent end to temporary problems. And so, Brothers in Healing was formed to get immediate aid to those in need. You can go to https://brothersinhealing.com/ - to find out more and support Chris and Woody’s mission.
Like Caster Salemi in #305, Manny Carvalho was introduced to me by Army National Guard Veteran and Veterans Brotherhood Motorcycle Club member David Danforth. I feel like a little kid getting to talk with these World War II Veterans, so I met up with David at the Liberal Club in Fall River and walked to Manny’s place to meet with him.
Manny grew up in Fall River, MA, and was drafted for the War Effort in 1939. He drove a Sherman Tank and served under General Patton in Africa. Hearing him talk about events that I have only experienced through media and video games made me pause as he answered questions that I have had for years.
Sgt Carvalho received the Bronze Star for his service. After the war, Manny came back to Fall River and started working. Today he is the unofficial “Mayor” of Fall River, and you can find him holding court at the Liberal Club in Fall River.
I want to thank David Danforth from the Veterans Brotherhood Motorcycle Club for introducing me to Manny Carvalho. It has been a privilege to talk with these World War II Veterans
