Great day for picks. NHL and NBA both have solid signals after a quiet stretch in basketball.

Yesterday: NHL went 5-4, NBA went 7-2. Panthers tank continues with a loss to Vancouver. Nashville upset the Kings again.

NHL Sniper pick is live at 23-10 (70% win rate). Three diamond picks tonight: St. Louis, Ottawa, New Jersey. All roughly 50-50 splits with high confidence.

NBA finally has featured picks again. LAC and Houston show up across multiple filters including Sniper (14-9, 61%) and Elite.

Otterline Report – March 16

NHL went 3-3 yesterday. Panthers took a tough loss to Seattle but the Edmonton pick came through. NBA went 2-5, but the odds have been brutal lately. Hard to find value when everything is 80-20 or 70-30.

The elite pick calibration from the other night is working. Now you won't see eight elite picks on one slate. Models need to be confident, not just in agreement.

Otterline Report – MAR 12

Yesterday went 0-2 in NHL. Philly lost 4-1, Montreal beat Ottawa in a close one. But NBA underdog wins saved the night. That's the nature of the game.

Today we've got 13 NHL power plays. Filter out heavy favorites and we're down to three diamond picks: Anaheim, Florida Panthers, and Dallas Stars. That bracket sits at 57% win rate across 94 games with much better odds than the raw 60% power plays.

The underdog value edge is 28-17. Panthers are tonight's play. Jackets sit at 51% to win, making Florida the technical underdog.

On NBA, I've rolled out Nexus-3 as the main model. It weights our best-performing model more heavily. The difference is 63% vs 67% over nearly 200 games. First half was great, second half has been rough, but the data shows the path forward.

Otterline Report Mar 9 | NHL Heats Up, NBA Consolidation

Yesterday went 5-2 in the NHL and 4-6 in the NBA. The hockey side pulled us through while basketball hit a rough patch.

I rebuilt the entire site behind the scenes. Now I can focus on content again. During the rebuild I ran some internal analysis and found a new edge called V3 Elite. When three models agree using a different formula, it's gone 36-13 so far. That's 73%.

The NBA has one play, Knicks in every filter. That's rare right now. NHL has six games with multiple edges. My personal plays are Washington, Utah, and Ottawa.

One tip. If you can get plus 1.5 on the spread for Ottawa or Utah, the win rate jumps from 60% to 80%. It compounds over time.

Power Plays are at 61% win rate, 208-134. Spring brings MLB which I'm excited for. Should be a good few months.

Otterline Report – March 5

Yesterday went 4-2 in NBA and 3-2 in NHL. Solid night across the board. Devils game returned 90%, Ducks at 102%, and Vancouver lost which was expected at 40%.

Today the NBA featured picks are empty. The models aren't giving me anything with three-model confidence. Jazz keeps appearing with two of three agreeing but that's not making the cut.

NHL is where the action is. Five power plays, four diamonds, and a value edge play.

Yesterday was a weird one. NHL went 3-3. NBA went 8-3 overall but my personal picks went 0-3 because I only buy within a certain range and those three were outside it. That happens. Got unlucky on Florida, they were falling apart and it should have been ours.

Yesterday was a fantastic day in the NHL. First day back and we absolutely cooked. NHL went 8-0. Buffalo beat New Jersey, Washington beat Philly, Tampa beat Toronto, Dallas beat Seattle, and Colorado, Winnipeg, Vegas, and Anaheim all won. NBA went 4-2. Just a super solid night to get back on track after a sleepy February.

Otterline Report – February 25, 2026

Yesterday went six and five in the NBA. Winning night but NBA has been just okay since the All-Star break. Right before the break we went 12-1. Since then it's been 50, 60% nights. We're due for a big tear.

On the hits: OKC over Toronto hit for 100% return. Charlotte over Bulls also 100%. Golden State, Boston, and Minnesota all had good returns. Atlanta was a 20% win. The losses were Miami to Milwaukee, Orlando to Lakers, and Pacers got blown out.

Yesterday Canada lost the Olympic Gold medal game to the US. That game never should have gone to overtime. Tough break but that's how it goes.

NBA went 6-5 yesterday. Not great but we won more than we lost. Hit Golden State at 30% odds which saved the day.
