In today's reading, in fear of the Israelites, Balak of Moab calls on Balaam to curse them. The Lord advises Balaam against it, but Balak insists. Then, Balaam's donkey advises against it. Convinced, Balaam blesses Israel and curses Balak and his allies.

In today's reading, Korah rebels against the Lord's commands and so the Earth swallows his people, fire consumes others involved. Due to this, the people grumble and many die due to plague. The Lord causes Aaron's staff to bud to settle the dispute before declaring the priests' portion of sacrifices and offerings.
