Uzzah, the son of Abinadab, dies for touching the ark. This terrifies David, until he sees Obed-edom is blessed by the ark.

April 5, 2026 | 2 Samuel 1-3

In today's reading, David eliminates the supposed killer of Saul. David is crowned king of Judah, but Abner crowns Ish-bosheth king of Israel. The two compete with a 12 v 12 contest. Abner ultimately swears to David as king, but is killed by Joeb to avenge his brothers.

In today's reading, Saul in disguise goes to a medium to talk to Samuel. The Philistines go to war with Israel, but Achish isn't allowed to bring David. David's wives get captured in Ziklag, but he is able to save them. In the end, Saul is cornered, loses his sons, and falls on the sword.
