Our Father's Heart

We continue our walk through Acts as we answer the question, "Did the disciples receive the Spirit, as is argued in John 20:22,23, before Jesus ascended into heaven and before the day of Pentecost?" If they indeed did not, then can we ascertain through the scriptures when they did? Is there explicit scriptural evidence that can answer this question definitively? I would argue yes, and that's why we are taking a walk through Acts. This episode will focus on chapters 4 - 8 in Acts.

This particular episode will set the stage for our study series entitled, A Walk Through Acts. We begin by asking some questions that need addressing, such as, when did the disciples receive the gift of the Holy Ghost? Can you receive Jesus in your heart separate and apart from receiving the Spirit or what is referred to as the baptism of the Holy Ghost? Why do some teach that the disciples received the Spirit in John 20:21-23 and yet they were told to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father? These and more questions are addressed as we are introduced to A Walk Through Acts.

Throughout the 3 years of His ministry, Jesus taught the multitude in parables. In doing so, He fulfilled prophecy spoken through Isaiah the prophet. When studying the Parable of the Sower some may focus on the sower or the seed, or the differing grounds the seed fell on, but all are important and all will be touched upon in this teaching.
