We have reached the end of our run with guest dad, Tom Reding (@treding on Twitter, @antifoodiex on IG). We let him pick the movies for his last week, and with much joy he selected Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead 2 (1987), and Cabin Fever (2002). Some loved the campy throwbacks, others enjoyed seeing the earlier work of a future blockbuster director, and others questioned "What are we doing?". Listen and see who is right.

In all their various forms, as we watched Ghostbusters (1984), Ghostbusters II (1989), Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016), and Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021). If you have thought about it, you may want to watch Horrible Bosses (2011) and Horrible Bosses 2 (2014) rather than risking life in prison. 

We love the combo of Bateman, Sudeikis, and Day along the recognizable cast of awful bosses. However, we feel like there was some more meat left on the bone. Come and find out for yourself.

Are you ready for some football? We watched two movies this with week that had some football, but not much, in Necessary Roughness (1992) and The Replacements (2000). Two similar stories about rag-tag teams, scrapped together hastily to generate an underdog to root for. We compare the rosters side by side to see if we can emerge with a winning movie.

When you get an underrated actor and unique director, they can produce great works. Or you can get A History of Violence (2005) and Eastern Promises (2007) from Viggo Mortensen and David Cronenberg. We like Viggo and want to see him in more films, but these weren't home runs. Let us know if you feel differently.

If you need a dramatic re-telling of actual events, who ya gonna call? Ron Howard! We watched his most recent film, Thirteen Lives (2022), which explores the journey of a Thai youth soccer team trapped in a series of caves. Howard's expertise heightens the drama and enhances the amazing story. We added a Brade Bargain Bin selection, Backdraft (1992), Howard's earlier examination of life in the Chicago Fire Department.
