There are many ways in which we can help those facing challenges to their hope.  A very successful way is to help them focus their efforts on personal and spiritual growth and to reach out to help others do so as well.  

In this episode I am speaking with Jim Lucas of HomeMission.  His personal motivation and the efforts of this incredible organization is to help bring hope to those seeking to grow.  They focus on helping small churches grow and reach out into their community to bring true and lasting hope to others.

Sometimes we find out what someone is doing for those whose hope is being challenged and it takes our breath away.  Such is the case with my guest in this episode. 

Ashley Pharr is part of an organization that fly patients and caregivers to receive care at no cost.  It began small and now has about 800 flights per year.

Our Lord Jesus stated on several occasions that He would return.  To the apostles and other first century Christians, was the expectation that the  return was imminent .  The return of Jesus is something we look for, perhaps even long for.  Yet here we are, over 2,000 years and He has not returned yet.

How are we to think about that?  How do we handle any doubt we might have about His return?  How do we answer the question about when He will return.

A commonality among many of those that have gone through or are going through a challenge in life is that they feel compelled to turn around and help those facing challenges on their own.  Such is the case with my guest in this episode.

I am speaking with Ingrid Hanson-Popp.  She experienced the joys and challenges of being a caregiver for her mother.  Through it she gained many valuable insights that she shares with us.  

She also put pen to paper to write a book of memoirs of her mom and her experiences as a caregiver.

When we face challenges in life, usually health or age related, amoung those who are of the greatest value to us are the non-paid, often family caregivers.  These dedicated individuals help us to discover, sustain, or regain hope in what for many is the most challenging time of our life.

There are many remarkable events in the life of Jesus.  In fact, as the apostle John closes his gospel, he states,

"Now there are also many other things that Jesus did.  Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written."

In this episode I want to focus on one event early in the ministry of our Lord.  It is the event when He confirmed through His actions the hope He offers.
