In this episode OHR was able to visit with rancher Mike Stokley, owner/operator of Big Creek Land and Livestock and Big Creek Beef, located in Paris and Winchester, KY.
Mike discusses how he and wife Christine, manage their cow/calf operation, ranch horse operation, and their custom beef business. Mike talks nutrition and the best practices that has done well with his beef cattle operation. Mike states that having a strong forage program and making sure you manage your cattle nutrition needs in winter months is key to sustainability.
Mike also discusses how he and Christine offer special events on their ranch as well as their offering of Big Creek custom beef, a program that is serving their community quite well!
