This week we discuss the song Ennui on the Mountain, and spend quite a bit of time sorting out the perfect t-shirt to create around a theme. It's official, we need a merch designer on staff. We discuss the significance of musical influence and the Dave Grohl book, being in our forties, and who is more emo - Hall or Oates? Plus, of course, MK had to work Pedro Pascal and The Last of Us into the episode (because episode three was pure genius, and Pedro is HOT).
We are back from our brief hiatus and kicking off the new year with the song Did It In A Minute! After a few weeks in Mexico, and some time to reorganize ourselves, we are ready for 2023. Time to learn all about Eric Carmen, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and our favorite types of cough drops. Shout out to phlebotomists!
It's our first time streaming live on Twitch! Did anyone show up? No, but we also didn't tell anyone because we wanted to make sure we did it right. HA! We discuss the song Say It Isn't So, as well as Halloween costumes, The Lawnmower Man, and the new John Oates Movember look!
This week's unofficial sponsor is Cole hardware store in San Fran! WOO HOO!
This week we talk about yet another song MK thinks Naomi mentioned liking in the past...only to find out she was wrong again. We spend a great deal of time talking about saxophone players, how to pronounce OOH YEAH, artichokes, and how much more Daryl appears in the video than John. Why is that?
The unofficial sponsor this week is Trader Joe's granola bars!
We were together in one room - finally! After a fun weekend of shenanigans, we watched From Philly to Chile on Paramount Plus. It's a short little documentary and got us talking about a million other topics that were somehow relevant. The movie BROS, Jameson, wine tasting at Iron Horse Vineyards, and our love of Brad Pitt. Would he make a great Daryl Hall in a biopic? Yes, yes he would. Lots of thoughts on who would play John Oates too...
This week we discuss the song How Does It Feel To Be Back off the Voices Album, as well as discover some amazing things about Mr. GE Smith! Naomi, fresh from a Cimafunk show, introduces us to a gentleman who could be a child of Bruno Mars and John Oates, if that was a possibility. We also have a new favorite DJ on Insta and Tik Tok, as well as thoughts on MK's Peloton.
We had some sound issues this week, but making a podcast on the go while enjoying the Beachlife Ranch festival is not easy! We discuss the amazing Hall and Oates show, as well as the one standout song they played from the War Babies album. We also took a little field trip to see the gents’ star on the Hollywood Walk of fame and had some delicious Korean food! A fun weekend in LA with a Hall and Oates theme for the WIN!
It's finally here - the Beachlife Ranch festival in Redondo Beach! Join us as we chat about our expectations of the show, the delicious brunch we ate, and the song Pleasure Beach! Of course, we digress into convos about Always Sunny in Philidelphia, Bryan Adams, and how we would create a video for this song.
Don't worry - there will be an episode next week all about the show!
This week we chat with Father John Reardon, a former Catholic, and current Episcopal priest. We discuss the song (and video for) She's Gone, the devil and his work on Earth, and how the Indigo Girls inspired John's sermons.
John Reardon is an Episcopal priest, educator, and social worker. He holds a Ph.D. in theology from Fordham University, where he wrote his dissertation about mystical experiences across religious beliefs. John recently moved to his family’s ancestral farm in the Appalachian mountains of western Maryland, where he lives with his dog and three cats.
Our guest this week is an amazing podcaster and all-around great guy, Jesse Jackson (not that Jesse Jackson). In addition to discussing The Boss, we relive Prince concerts and dig into the Ticketgate drama. We also talk about television shows like Dr. Who, Only Murders in the Building, House of Dragons, and Sex Education. PLUS we learn about the podcast Dead Eyes and can't wait to dive in. OH - and we focus on the song Promise Ain't Enough from Marigold Sky because HALL AND OATES.
Jesse Jackson has been hosting his Podcast Set Lusting Bruce since 2015. During that time he has talked to hundreds of music fans from around the world discussing their favorite musicians, bands and songs. Jesse also is part of other podcasts discussing topics ranging from Doctor Who, Babylon 5, and Game of Thrones. He has seen Bruce Springsteen perform 17 times and counting. He loves to read, watch TV and obviously podcast. He lives in the DFW area with his lovely bride Linda and sees his adult son Chris every Sunday during the Cowboy season (where they continue to disappoint them both). He will pick DC over Marvel, Superman over Batman, Star Trek over Star Wars and is a blueberry in a very strawberry state.
