Foul mouthed? Absolutely! Street Smart? Defiantly! In the premiere episode of, Outlaw Wisdom, listeners will be introduced to Drew, a man with a passion for storytelling and the gift of gab. Through personal stories, Drew will tell listeners about his humble beginnings, to his days as a SAG/AFTRA stunt performer, his time as a red-carpet camera operator, and how and why he decided to give all that up to write a book about his dogs, Sasha and Gabbie.
Welcome to Outlaw Wisdom. Let's begin shall we...
What happens when life throws you under a truck—literally? For Drew, it became the catalyst for transformation and the origin of his nickname "The Man of Steel." His doctor, who was bewildered by his recovery, was the one who nicknamed him "The Man of Steel."
Drew's journey from New York to California reads like an improbable Hollywood script. Broke, grieving the loss of his dog, and desperate for change, he seized an opportunity that would eventually place him on red carpets alongside Johnny Depp, John Travolta, and Dolly Parton. But fate had other plans when a distracted driver changed everything in November 2018 resulting a catastrophic accident that had Drew in the ICU under the watchful eye of nurses for a week.
The accident should have left Drew paralyzed. Instead, it forged him into "The Gunslinger"—a man who refused to back down against insurance companies that expected him to give up like most victims do.
Throughout this raw conversation, Drew shares philosophical truths gained through trauma: "You got to go to hell to get to heaven" and "You can't let other people rent space in your head." His book "The Wheelhouse" became an unexpected source of inspiration, moving a trucking school classmate to tears and convincing Drew to pursue his calling as a writer despite the sacrifices required.
Perhaps most powerful is Drew's perspective on success: "There is no such thing as part-time success." While relationships suffered during his obsessive writing periods, Drew maintains that true fulfillment comes from within: "Whatever you do in life, you shouldn't do it for somebody else."
