  • Episode 12 - Taking God's Word to Heart

Today Donielle Hart and I talk about memorizing scripture and the value of it.  Donielle has memorized books of the Bible and loves to share it as a spoken word.  In this episode, you won't find condemnation but rather an encouragement that God loves when we rest in His word.  Donielle gives practical advice and tips like:

*Memorized scripture can help us through life's hard days and temptations.

*Memorization is solely to enter deeply into God's presence, not to check off a box on the "to-do" list.

    Memorization Tips:

    Repetition

Don't get discouraged on day 2

Get started by asking God to reveal a portion of scripture He wants you to focus on.

Rest in the Lord - there is no hurry to memorization.

Key Verse - Matthew 4:4 But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

  • Episode 11 - Resolving Conflict in Marriage

In this episode, my guest Tracy Dwyer and I talk about how we can resolve conflict in our marriages.  Marriage is difficult and we can either help our marriage become better or spiral out of control.  Here are a few takeaways from this episode.

*Conflict isn't always bad.  It can lead us to better our communication.

*There's always hope for every marriage.

*Ultimately our needs are fulfilled in Christ, not our spouse, but there are ways we can share our needs with our spouse that can be beneficial to our marriage.

*When conflict arises over and over about the topic, stop and evaluate where the conversation breaks down.  Then make the changes needed to stop that breakdown.

*There is a way to express hurt well.

*We talk about what you can do if your spouse isn't interested in building and investing in your marriage.

Key Verse Ephesians 5:31-33 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. 33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

  • Episode #3 - Helping our kids fall in love with Jesus

In this episode, I talk with my friend Meghann Tenant about how we can help our kids love Jesus and desire a relationship with Him.  We don't need to have a theology degree to point our kids to Christ.  In fact, they can understand so much more than we give them credit for.   God loves our kids and He desires a relationship with them. Join us as we talk about empowering our kids to serve for life.

    Key Verse: Isaiah 54:13

Every area of our life that does not glisten with hope in God, is under the influence of a lie. - Meghann Tenant (paraphrase of Francis Frangipane)

About Outrageous Grace

From the publisher's feed

This is a mom-and-daughter podcast. In each episode, we hope to encourage women in their relationship with Jesus through raw conversation. We will talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of walking out of our Christian faith all to remind you that you are not alone. Jesus didn't promise an easy road for us as Christians but He did give us a community to encourage and build us up. Grab your favorite hot drink and pull up a chair and let's get real.
